garbutt is clearly not ready for first team premiership football. Oviedo is the obvious replacement but he has missed nearly a year and can't be fit. He has 2 choices . swing distan out there and play a rookie CB or swing seamus out there and pick Hibbo at RB

What makes you think he's not ready?

Coleman has never played left back in his life as far as I'm aware. Why risk it?

Why push our biggest attackin threat into a position hes poayed once (and we got smashed)

Moveing hibbert there woukd make sense to shackle downing, not coleman

Garbutt shoukd play regardless
have you seen the pace of Downing. Putting a fullback into another fullback position is not a square peg in a round hole.

I would rather sell him than ever risk having to see him at left back again. That game still creeps up on me at night

To be fair....he was a kid at the time and the rest of the team wasn't much better that night!

But I agree regardless, I'd leave him at right back and let him maraud up and down the flank like the white dani alves

great left foot, but not quick, ball watches no physical strength.

I haven't seen much of him apart from a few pre season games and the Swansea cup game so can't really comment but he seems to be rated by the coaching staff as one of our better youngsters.

The thought of west ham playing one of their big dog centre forwards on him and putting crosses in is starting to worry me already tho come to think of it. Need jags and distin to stand up big time for this game....or just get the hammers on the Backfoot and tear them apart with our sexy attacking football

No you can't say for sure, but watching him for England he get's in good defensive positions then switches off (or ball watches) .Last night he got ripped to pieces by 2 different French lads.

i think he'd get more protection in our team, although barry missing could negate that
