Play Garbutt, was one of our best players in pre season, was really the only player to come out against swansea with any credit, has had a few really good games for england u21s, FFS, DA HAMMERS are in a bit of form, so what, why are some people cowering at the thought of Downing, get a grip.

Everyone was flapping last year at the thought of some untested slight costa rican kid having to play, and guess what, he smashed it.

Lukes time has come.

And after that little rant, bet you baines ends up being fit in time

No no I'm not having that one boys!! The Lille goal was indirect from a corner wasn't it?

Bainesy took it short, sold an outrageous dummie and put the cross in with his right peg.....when did we last score from a direct corner!?
Wasn't Jags against Lille - that was from a direct corner. Eto'o scored from that one you're thinking of anyway, not Jags, like.

.....Oviedo not in contention. Latest from RM;

Martinez confirmed that Bryan Oviedo, who last month had a screw removed from the leg he broke in January, is still a little way from returning to full fitness.

“It will be wrong for us to rush Bryan just because Leighton has got an injury,” Martinez added. “
Tyias Browning or Luke Garbutt, there could be an opportunity for a youngster who has been working hard in that department.

“As is stands we’ll try to give as much time to Leighton to get fully recovered and see if he can be fit for the West Ham game. If not, I wouldn’t be worried about giving the opportunity to one of our youngsters because they have been working really well and they would deserve it.”

......wouldn't think he'd play Browning LB, @Mikey_Fitzgerald could be right with a Browning, Jagielka, Distin back three. Otherwise looking increasingly like Garbutt.

Browning played at left back a few times in preseason. Think it'll be garbutt get his chance

I'm good with playing Garbutt. We're crippled by injuries anyway, and at this point I see points in this match as a bonus. Garbutt is in the last year of his contract but looks like a great prospect. He needs to see the pitch for us to have any chance of signing him beyond this year - and I really hope we do, because we need to be building for the future.

It's a great time to begin involving our youth.
