Am I the only one who thinks he needs games on loan ?
Defensively naive which is understandable but he doesnt have a god given right to play when LB back.

Garbutt needs a decent wage offered ASAP if the contracts handed out to dads army like the two TH and Distan etc we could afford to pay it its a joke anyone can see he is class!

He gets a bit too tight to his opponent at times and so is liable to get turned by the better ones. Good player, but in my mind our third choice LB.

As some have pointed out, he's prone to the odd positional error but appears to have the overall game to succeed. Very good technically, we need to keep him if at all possible, reminds me of a younger Baines, who get's caught out defensively in most games to be fair, but has the experience to recover quickly.

Said it before, sign him on a 4 year deal and loan him out to a Prem side for a season. We have Baines and Oviedo for next season and after a full year Garbutt may be ready to be number 1.

Makes sense I guess.

He's a cracking player and easily technically as good as the Leighton Baines of the past year, who looks like he's starting to decline quickly.

Oviedo is a fantastic player to have in the squad and can fit in in loads of positions.

Deffo get Luke signed up to a long term deal asap.

Interesting post-match interview on the OS - let's just say he's not lacking in self-belief.

Tbh, he holds the cards here as he knows he can probably walk into another PL first team squad with a good chance of a regular place (and command wages to suit) rather than having to battle away as a possible third choice here. And, on the club's side, they are unlikely to say that they guarantee getting rid of Baines or Oviedo to make his situation better (or at least they won't until the end of the season). So he's just sitting on his hands and seeing what works out best for him and the contract continues to run down. Fair enough on his side...
