plenty of judas and kopite shouts on here, not from you like, the gaffer has no problem playing out of form fossils three times a week, but wont play a 21 twice a week, when the only other option is to play a terrible right back out of position, wouldn't be surprised if garbutt made his mind up there and then
TBH it was probably not wise to give him his first start against Fat sams bullies

Don't blame him one bit if he goes, he's been criminally under-used all season and treated like a spare part when he's clearly got bags of ability.

Another embarrassing episode for the club when he inevitably comes back with his new team and rips use to shreds.
Like Gosling

Do agree he shouldve been used more though, same with oviedo considering how poor at times baines has been at times over the past 2 seasons.

Or even use them as left winger instead of naismith or ross

Oh the Judas and Kopite shouts are just plain daft and tbh think most of it in jest.

Playing guys like Barry twice a week is a separate (but valid) issue. Don't think two wrongs make a right though - imo young players are best eased in and put in situations where they are likely to succeed, two physically tough games in a week for someone not used to it doesn't seem ideal.

Baines has 13 assists and 3 goals this season in the League Europe and Cups (2014/15)
He had 7 goals 4 assists last season in the League and Cups (2013/14) and the season before that (2012/13) he had 7 goals 6 assists.
He's hardly been crap.
In fact his 10 assists in the Premier League this season means he's got the 4th most assists in the league to date.

So for all that Garbutt has promise, its unrealistic to expect him to get much more game time than he has ahead of not only Oviedo who is also a quality player but also Baines

Garbutt should have been used more!!
Hibbert shouldnt have been played over him but other than that I don't see where else he warranted getting a gig over Baines. Oviedo played one or two games there but he did deserve a gig there too, he was brilliant there last season pre injury.

I really want to re-sign him but even if we do he's still only going to be a back up. The worst thing that happened to Garbutt was Baines not leaving for Manure. He would be playing a pivotal role for us by now and whilst we know he has the ability to he's currently not up to Baines' standard. Whilst Baines is 30, he's a real durable player and he should be performing to the same standard for another three seasons.

Luke is 22 this month, he can't sit around here untill he's 25 waiting for first team action. He'll have several premier league clubs offering him first team football id imagine. It kills me to say it but i couldn't blame him if he wanted to leave for the better good of his career.

It's not likes he's Jack Rodwell or someobe starting every week and is moving to a club that'll double his wages but give him no game time. If Luke genuinely just wants first team action then there's really nothing we can do.

Really don't see the issue. We have the best left back in the prem, and an excellent understudy in Oviedo.

Are people suggesting we kick them 2 out?!?

Oviedo isn't as good as people think and Baines isn't getting any younger.

Seems a waste to let him walk away.
