Another Dan Gosling?
LOL

Always makes me laugh this thing people have with Dan Gosling.

If Luke Garbutt is allowed to leave for nothing, it will come back to haunt us, no two ways about it. Its clear for all to see that Garbutt is a gem in the making. The lad knows how to play footy and now just needs to add consistency to his game, which will come. In years to come it will be a massive regret in two ways.

1. Having a quality player at the club after spending nothing in terms of a fee, making the left back spot his own for years to come.

2. Not being able to sell him on bringing in a potential large fee.

Dan Gosling didn't do much when he was here if we are honest and when he left it was a shrug of the shoulders. Garbutt leaving will sting a bit.

A lot of people were disappointed that Dan Gosling left on a free. Myself included.

He hasn't been given enough games to be consistent! You can only become consistent with a consistent run of games.

I do agree with the rest of your post though spot on.

I think this is more the case and Martinez doesn't rate him as an absolute must to sign on the dotted line. I think he's quite comfortable to let this kid go and if Oviedo was fit Garbutt wouldn't be getting a look in.
I hope that Bobby hasn't taken against him for dumb comments.
He's young and talented and if he signs will probably be here longer than Martinez

I just get the feeling Martinez isn't that arsed proff, firstly with playing Hibbert left back when everyone thought it would definitely be Garbutt, then at the next available opportunity he brought Baines back and always has as that's his main man. Reading between the lines I get the feeling he's offered Garbutt a contract but has told him he will be 3rd choice so it's up to him to either fight it out with no guarantees or he can sod off and play for someone else.

Just give us the compo.

Inabit Luke you floppy haired bell.

Aye, well Nora thinks he's a better Left Back than Garbutt.

If he doesn't sign then we've had an absolute shocker letting a very promising player go on a free. He's prem quality, ive got no doubt. I find the seeming lack of concert re his contract worrying.
