Yeah but it wasnt for the lack of trying for both himself and the club, come January we will be looking a lot more attractive to incoming players then we did in the summer following on from last season. He will have more idea on exactly what we do need in January and the ground work will allready being going on behind the scenes now for that.

He has done pretty well for us since he came into the team, he was fouled yesterday while in mid-air, the ref didn't give it but the replays left no doubt, that is hardly a basis for criticism.

I think Koeman wants another keeper and I believe we were interested in Hart but the price was too high, there is not an abundance of available talent so we are sticking with him for now, but I would expect a signing in Jan or the summer, depending on how we are going. I am not suggesting we heap faint praise on Steks, but a bit of balance and a sense of perspective would help.

Not impressed. All he did all game was pass the ball back to Spurs and invite more pressure on himself. Of course, he may have been trying to bypass a very poor bunch of teammates in front of him.

At any rate he looks unlikely to be involved in the sort of goalkeeping howlers that occasionally bedevilled Tim Howard.
