Except I'm referring to the large gaps in their end..
Nightmare last night took 3.30hrs to get there from Walsall to find no food left only poxy crips.I would have taken a point at kick off (shame i missed it) no goals conceeded onwards and upwards lids.Back in work at 06.00 this morning on 4hrs kip ,the things we do for Everton. NSNO.

Yep, I pounded the table in frustration at the time because I thought it was a certain penalty but looking back at it, I can see what he's saying. Sterling miscontrols/pushes the ball out of play and then turns inside over Stones' legs not in the direction of the ball. Stones is injured, tired and outpaced and I bet he couldn't believe the decision.
I thought it was a pen, but like you I don't think Sterling had control of the ball and nothing would've come of it. I'd say most pens given are in situations where there wasn't a real scoring opportunity, and I think refs should consider that when making a decision, unless there's a
clear cut violent tackle or cynical foul. How often do we see pens given when the forward has his back to the goal on the wide edge?

Totally agree the little red w@nker had lost control off the ball then fell into Stones great decision from tthe ref for once.

......I have to say I thought it was a pen. Had it been at the other end I would have been very disappointed to not get it.
I understand mate. Both rulings could be backed. Different ref might have given it but that wasnt wrong ruling. Again...read the game...as theyve been teached.

Against a very good Citeh side, A point away SHOULD be applauded.
I'm clapping still, Does it lack ambition to be happy with an away point to the hardest Stadium in the league ?? Possibly, Have to give credit where it's due though and the Lads deserve it, Especially Howard, Gaz, Jags n Mo.

Just hope the law of averages doesn't kick in meaning we get beat in two weeks.

In all honesty last night means very little, I wish we could swap it for the semi. I really couldn't care less about the league, top 4 is gone which is criminal considering we are better than the majority of teams above us bar City and Arsenal.

6,000 plus missing at the Emptihad.
Wow, you sound like a United fan. Did you seriously count 6,000? Was the game really that bad?

Just FYI, even if there was 10,000 empty seats, it still would have been more than any average attendance you've had since 1970, 46 years ago! Nice little stat that isn't it? :p

I disagree about it meaning "very little", Lee.

We took their best shot in that second half and stood firm.....their first shut out at home in a year.

That has got to be a great psychological boost ahead of the semi.
