He wasn't great in the first couple of games either but McCarthy was slightly worse.
Not quite sure what people are expecting from him - he has been rushed back within a month from an injury that was so severe they thought he'd broken something and played 3 games in a week without his usual partner. If he is still playing badly next month then I could understand the reaction but seems odd to do it now.

i was wondering how they could fill the 20 mins tbh. 1 save each for a keeper a pen and 2 red card incidents. maybe they'll show eto'o's overhead.
they'd have to show 7 replays of the pen to try and fill half of it.

no idea. we were chasing the game at the end of the day so needed to keep the more attacking of the two on. could possibly be that he trusted barry's experience to not get a second yellow over besic's inexperience. his decision making this season have been the polar opposite of his bold, attacking and youth trusting ones of last season.
as ever, it's best to base it at the end of the season though - he's the manager and we're not after all.

Most pissed off I've felt for a while leaving the game tonight. City were without 2 out of their 3 best players giving us a good opportunity to capitalise and we quite frankly didn't trouble them at all. Mangala Is a liability, was on a yellow most the game yet I can't remember putting him under any pressure. We looked a bit better with Barkley on but still seems to be something lacking at the moment (McCarthy being one major factor). Lukaku simply isn't doing enough for a man of his ability.
As for the ref - how he failed to send off either Mangala or Fernando was beyond me. Simple red card decisions not given. Baffling.

Prolly afraid that if the MC Muay Thai barrage continued Mo would have retaliated in kind. Of course, then it would have been carded. Or worse... he'd probably get prison time for doing unto them as they did unto us.

That's what I was thinking as Besic walked off.
But I have to say Barry came to life after that and was very prominent in that much improved last quarter of the game.
