Man vs fat football

I'm in my 4th season and we've also now got an 11 a side team that plays in a league against other MvF teams.

It's a good laugh and a great way of playing against people of similar ability and other fatties so you don't get rings run round you.

Any questions just give me a shout

Will do mate, cheers

Serious question (for once) - will they eventually kick you out if you lose enough weight?

You say that now but I know I'd really miss not being able to play if I couldn't. Obviously, yes - it'd mean you'd lost the weight which was the objective.

Any way, good luck with it. Eat less bread would be my advice and if you haven't done any exercise for a while, get those knees supported as they are going to be in for a bit of a shock.

That's what I meant, I'd have lost that weight so I'd be happy about that.
I've git a few vices I need to swerve. Bread will be one of them, along with snacking and fast food.

I've been doing it slowly via the 1% method. Baby steps and creating / compounding habits is where I'm at now

Nope, once you get to your target weight you can stay. The only issue is that games are decided by a combination of the on pitch result and weight loss results as you get awarded goals for the weight loss.

So you might win 3-0 but the other team might have a great weight loss week and earn 4 or 5 goals and beat you. If you've reached your target then you're not really contributing with weight loss goals anymore.

Try to and make some extra time to walk everywhere instead of driving etc. Especially if you are quite a bit over weight.

If you try and do high intensity stuff too soon you might cause yourself an injury, so go slow and steady at first.
I walk an average of 15,000 steps a day for the last 15 years, I've never lost weight but my legs would put most Footballers to shame ?

As others have said. Make better food choices and move more.

Cut out bad snacks as much as possible, particularly sugary ones. Same goes for drinks. Your default drink should be water. Loads.

As for the moving, it's just that. Walking wherever/whenever possible. Escalators and lifts? Nah.... Stairs.

Ease into whatever you choose as a more intensive exersize. To be blunt, you're massive. The last thing you need as you start down this journey is a knackered knee/ankle.

Don't fret about weight. No need to become scale obsessed, you know from how your clothes feel if your on the right track. Of course, weigh yourself from time to time but don't loose hope if it doesn't fly off as quick as you'd have liked.

Best of luck.

Does anyone here do this, if so is it worth it?

I'm 140kg at the minute, need to lose about 4 stone for medical reasons. I play golf about once a fortnight and I'm looking for other stuff to do.
Yeah I've been in ManvFat Liverpool & Wirral for about 4 months now.

Was 123kg when I started I'm now 107kg.

It's worth the money, game of footie everyweek, puts in touch with a group of lads to organise more games of footie if you want and you can play in the 11 a side games.

The level isn't as bad as you think it is though, some very good players as you only need a 25+ BMI to play.

You can have a BMI of 26 and be on excellent shape, there are quite a few players who have reached Thier target Weight and still play.

Teams are not really balanced, you just get assigned a random team they don't really know how good or bad you are before assigning a team.

However don't let this put you off, everyone is very supportive and it gives you more accountability loosing weight.

Any questions about it let me know

No they don't, you only need to be 25+ BMI to qualify anyway, my goal weight isn't even that low I'm too thin at 12 6 and 5ft 10.

Even if you went below threshold to qualify you can still play, your weigh in doesn't contribute to the teams score anymore.

Also to add to others weight loss advice I throw in my advice.

At your weight and the fact you have been told you need to loose for health, I wouldn't do it in baby steps, at least not the first 10kg or so.

I would start relatively strict and keep it up for two weeks, at your size you would likely drop around 10kg at that size
(Talking 2000 calories per day)

Then look to loose weight more gradual, the method of eating as much as possible while still lossing weight is the goal.

Create a time machine and go back to 1970 and join the US forces in Vietnam.

Get captured by the Viet Cong and be taken to an all expenses paid POW camp and watch the weight fly off.
