I don't get why people dont like the man personally either.

Klopp? Sure he moans constantly, acts a bully to reporters etc when not getting his own way and abuses ball boys.

Benitez hasn't done anything near as divisive as far as im aware. He used to moan about money etc but most top managers are like that Mourinho moaned all the time, Conte falls out with owners yet everyone on here wouldn't say no to either of them in terms of their personality.

It's utterly irrelevant how "nice" a manager is. Harry Catterick was a terrible dose according to many who knew him, including Howard Kendall. But he was elite for this club. All that matters is if he is good. We had lots of nice managers over the years - Walter, Silva, Roberto. All of them largely useless when it mattered.

I will say, in their defence, that they often had mitigating factors in their demise, but niceness was no attribute.

Had no problem from the second we knew he was our boss, despite him not been my 1st pick like so many and not really wanting him before that, but more than happy as everyone should be considering we have had many Injuries and are were we are, the only defeat v villa for me was unlucky as well-may have been different if that Gray shot one minute earlier than 1st villa goal had went in, 3 home games now in the next set of 4 league games [West Ham home, Watford home, Wolves away, spurs home],before we then have another 2 weeks off.

Rondon looks like 1995 Steve Bruce, I agree, but at least he is available, he gives everything & doesn't have a personal physician overruling the Everton club doctor. He's warming the bench against WHU, everybody knows that.

I know where you're coming from and yes he isn't available but his history with the player is not his "availability" its him not being the kind of player he wants in the team thats my only point. Just say it and more people would be on his side, i just don't like it when people make up stuff to suit their position that's all. I would argue that rondon being available 100% of the time is also less use than Rodriguez being available for even 25% of the time but thats another argument.

yes, it did. But at this point in time last year, we were top of the league, still in the cup, playing wonderful football and saying James was the greatest player in the world.

Obviously that all changed as the season progressed, but in absolutely no way can anyone claim Benitez is doing better than Ancelloti did at the same point last year.
