Was not koeman experienced and Sam that never worked mate who are you thinking?

You logic is flawed. Because Sam and Koeman were experienced, it does not mean all experienced coaches are bad. The fact is, an experienced coach is far more likely to be a good appointment than an inexperienced one.

Lopetegui actually wasn't as bad at Madrid as people make it out to be but he didn't have anyone to finish the considerable chances they created. The problem is it's hard to tell exactly how much of it is him or the fact that they have maybe the best midfield on Earth. I think getting him would be a major win for the club but I don't see it.

Yeah, but the fact he had the ethics of a snake probably meant he had very little goodwill. The fact he derailed his country’s hopes of the World Cup made him very unpopular.

Getting the WRONG managers from this league has not worked. I don’t think it’s an issue recruiting from within England. Spurs have done alright with Poch.

There are as many examples of bad appointments from overseas leagues as there are bad appointments from the domestic leagues.
There are. But the ones in the league who would come here. Which ones would you have?

Fact is though, it is getting to the stage where your only choice is to get a foreign coach, as the Premier League and even the Championship is full of foreign coaches!

I wasn’t suggesting we appoint an English manager, just that managers already managing English clubs shouldn’t be overlooked on the basis they “haven’t worked for us before”.

Moyes did. Ronko and Martinez didn’t (although Martinez did produce the last Football i enjoyed as an Evertonian - and the most promising results). I’m ruling Allardyce out as he was always only a short-term appointment.

Silva was just a bad appointment and a lot of blues had their reservations beforehand. We put on a huge charm offensive for a bloke who had been relegated the season before and who had less than 12 months Premier League experience.

I'd say this for Howe or Arteta they'd actually care about the club. And hopefully could build something. I feel like our problems are so deep rooted we need more experience though.

I know. But I was just saying that I fear for the domestic coaching due to the influx from overseas. How can we unearth any domestic coaches when there are no opportunities.

British coaches are not necessarily inferior - our cycling set up is the envy of the world, while we also do well in many other sports.

It used to be clubs would have a good solid core of local or at least domestic players too, but that is pretty much gone. It’s outside of the debate of course, but I really do not see how this is good for the long-term future of our game.
