This tweet got me thinking.

EFC fans should have a day off from such behaviour this weekend at this incredibly poignant moment.

Give Sterling a good reception as a statement that EFC and its fans understand the issues and are supportive.

Some things are more important.

Good call that. Just a round of applause when he takes a throw in or sommet near our lot would be enough.

All we have to play for this season is the FA Cup, so three points here realy isnt too important for Everton, the only thing I %100 dont want is a draw, that really would be the worse scenario possible

This is the exact same scenario. What’s the use to of us of taking a point or three when you know full well we’ll choke at home against the next mod table side we face. City to run through us and keep the RS mutants away from the trophy for another year. Not even sorry.

Jeez, it’s not even Xmas yet. What are you on about? Obviously don’t want THEM to win stuff but we’re not even half way through the season. We’re on the back of a dodgy couple weeks, tough programme ahead. A bad performance and a defeat could hurt us more, confidence is probably already low, and crank up the pressure on the coming games. Would be good to have a feelgood factor around the club again.A win would give us so much confidence going into the Xmas. I really can not understand some of the comments on this thread. If it was March /April perhaps I’d think differently. To say we’ve only got the Cup to play for is ridiculous, it was only 2-3 weeks ago people were saying 4th wasn’t out of reach. Perhaps it is now but 5th or 6th certainly isnt. The higher we finish and some good results against the big boys would only change people’s and maybe players perceptions of us. Therefore make players sit up and notice and make us a more attractive proposition. If you’d rather finish mid table and throw all your eggs into the FA Cup basket, you may as well jackin watching us in the League. If you don’t want us to win, you’re not a fan in my eyes. You may as well go to Analfield and get a Man U ticket.

As for the exact same scenario? Mid December and 22 games left v May and about 3 games left of the season. Not really the exact same, is it? Our club doesn’t deserve ‘support’ like yours. As I say, later on in the season when the result doesn’t really affect us and it affects them, fair enough. But now? Before Xmas? Just over a third of the season gone? You need to look at your priorities.

Find it funny anyone saying they'd love us to lose a game 15 games into a season to stop the scum winning the league lol.

Basically you think that way you lose any right to slate any player or performance from the team full stop, as you've shown exactly the same kind of small club mentality and the happy to stay in the league type thinking that's held this club back for twenty odd years.

Spot on mate. 2-0 to the Evertron will do me nicely and get us all feeling positive again after a whole week of pain.

If we did this, we would be declaring that our hatred is based on his race, its not.

I mean I dont hate him, I like what the boy is doing, hes drawing attention to something that should have much more attention.

If we do boo him it's a cinch the RS media, and RS fans will turn it into some sort of racist agenda from us.

I'm weirdly more confident on away games anyways this season mate, at home they are feeling the pressure and trying to force things too much, city will likely beat us, they are a mile better let's face it, but it's the one ground I don't really fear us choking at from the top sides.

Ultimately, just want to see us maintain the direction and improvement in the way we play till the end of the season, the core of this side now is young and a lot new to the league, keep the positive confidence in where we are heading up amongst this team, add a couple to it in January and try get into Europe for next season, with hopefully at least a semi final in the fa cup as a bonus.

I'll take all that mate.

The way I see it, a positive result sets us up for Spurs. Get battered against City and the pressure then increases on the Spurs match. Before we know it we are stuck in 12th/13th whereas a positive result against City gives the players a boost which they deffo need at this moment in time.

Ultimately in my mind now anyway the rs if they do go on and win it, so be it, saw them win it in 86 from a far better Everton side than they where in frankly one of the most bizarre league season's I can remember.

If the price of seeing them not win it be ones hoping we lose 15 games into a season, and well the game after we should hope to lose by the same standard as spurs are close to them too. Then frankly I cba as we've set ourselves up as the only thing we are hoping for each season us to try give point to help out their rivals which is the saddest thing I can think of.

Hope we win as many as we can regardless of if it helps them out or not,
