I'd genuinely be extremely shocked and even a little torn if we won... but it just isn't happening. Again, not arsed in the slightest if we lost.

A draw? Sack that right off tbh.

All we have to play for this season is the FA Cup,

Don't be ridiculous....we are playing for league position, and are in a very tight race for 6th place and Europe, which would probably mean an expansion of the transfer targets in the summer. Every came is important and while there are no easy games, just some harder than others, we are looking to win every game.

Because of the red team over the park maybe?

Oh, I know where he is coming from all right.

I just don’t see the logic to it.

Because there is none.

For example.....if City and EFC draw on Saturday then the former goes back to the top of the league.

If United win at The Pit on Sunday then they stay there.

But even so, if City draw with us and the RS then draw or win the next day, City are three points behind and with a better goal difference in even the worst case scenario.

So a defeat for City would potentially leave then four points adrift.

By any sensible measure, one point for City.....and indeed Everton....is better than none.

That being said, we are not even halfway through the season yet so to wish defeat on our own team at this stage of the season is just plain barking.

And I for one will be hoping we win at City.

I would be interested if there is a correlation between going to the game and wanting us to get beat . I can’t believe anyone going to Manchester wants it and I wonder how many season ticket holders are hoping we lose . There might be absolutely nothing in that by the way , I’m just speculating.

I’d maybe get it if there were 3 games left but it’s not even Christmas yet .

We complain that the media always make the narrative about the RS... and yet in this thread many blues are doing that exact thing regarding our game against City. Where’s the discussion of the fact we’re three games without a win, including two very poor performances at home and could really do with a good performance. Our next two are city and spurs- Moshiri got slaughtered last season (and rightly so) for his “expected losses” chat, yet worse than that we have people actually WANTING a defeat, not just expecting one. It’s embarassing.

One more thing... It’s the middle of December ffs. Some of you should ask Santa Claus for new bedsheets or a plastic cover to make it easier to clean up all your urine.

I don’t get anyone not wanting us to win because of the miseries across the park.

Admittedly, there’s only 22 games left so what could possibly go right or wrong in that amount of games.

If anyone can honestly say that they would turn back the clock to 2014 when we got beat by City so that Everton won then you’re a complete liar. We’d have still finished 5th and Liverpool would have won the league by a point. This is the exact same scenario. What’s the use to of us of taking a point or three when you know full well we’ll choke at home against the next mod table side we face. City to run through us and keep the RS mutants away from the trophy for another year. Not even sorry.

No, Dom.....it is not the exact same scenario.

Nor owt ike it.

Back then there were what, three games to go?

And the RS a couple of points in front?

Of course many of us wanted City to win that day.

I was at the game yet despite knowing the potential disaster looming when Barkley scired his screamer, I was up on my feet cheering,

But I’ll be darned if I am going to wish ill on my own team in a game not even halfway into the season which may or may not have any bearing on the final league placings.

And I suspect the thousands of us making the trip up the East Lancs on Saturday morning will feel the same :)

Exactly, Harry.

I well remember the arguments on here during the week leading up to the City game in 2014.

And the impression I got was that the further away a person lived from the city of Liverpool, the less likely a City defeat bothered them :)

This game is nowhere near of the same significance.

There is absolutely no logic in wanting owt other than an Everton victory.

So Come On You Blue Boys :)

lol

Great post.

we will beat these

It’s Everton mate. There’s two competing forces beyond our control at play here. One is ‘Everton that’ and the other is the satanic RS pact with the devil. ‘Everton that’ is strong enough to ensure that even though it would benefit Liverpool hugely by us winning, there’s no way Everton will let their fans have that joy of finally breaking the big club away hoodoo and being the first team to win at the etihad this season as well as bolstering our top 6. The pact with the devil is pretty strong though which is why a draw is most likely. We get nothing out of it and the RS still get the points advantage they want. Get your money on that happening in a season where nothing has gone our way and everything imaginable has fallen the way they’ve wanted it.

Anyone remember the 70s when the rs were winning trophies nearly every year? Cant ever recall wanting us to lose a game when that was going on...you think the situation is bad now, think again. Title is City's to lose, we should be concentrating on our own form instead of wondering what the mutants across the park do....otherwise we may well just pack it all in now.
