Manchester City's Sham Trial

I am not cheering them on mate and as for point scoring with RS neighbours and RS family members and work colleagues ( I'm retired) I barely talk to them about football .
City and Chelsea having done more damage to us than the RS is absolute nonsense.
With smart management and a new stadium, we could get close enough to Liverpool on occasions. Probably missed the boat on the global brand but teams like villa prove it is possible. However with teams like City and Chelsea and soon Newcastle, with unlimited spending and abusing their position through outright cheating, means we will never come close to winning the league in another 50 years or until they join a super league.

Not to mention the human rights abuses their owners are involved in.

Cheering on city cos it makes reds angry makes me cringe.

I don't disagree with the future prospects for our club if it is handled correctly.
As for catching Liverpool we all know sooner rather than later they will be taken over by an Arab state so catching them needs to be done before that happens.
As for cheering on City cos it makes Reds angry ,to me if there are 2 sides of any argument and The RS are on one side I will always be on the other. some people have short memories but I don't forget Hysel, the Steau Bucharest banners or the coffins being prepared on Wavertree high street in 1994.
As I said before know your enemy.

At least you’re not referring to our owners as camel jockeys. That kind of comment is allowed on here. No surprise really, considering your fan’s reputation. Hopefully you’ve changed since this :

An article from the Year 2000.

No agenda here, obviously.

I’m a nutshell, rules were brought in just after the Saudi takeover of Newcastle in 2021 to stop owners injecting money into clubs via other commercial routes, which could help them financially overcome the PL’s rules which have been set up to make sure the cartel of man united and Liverpool are never threatened.

The rest is just salad dressing.
100%

City is on a mission. Their end game is to destroy PL..not even exaggerating. They have got Masters and co. in the mat right now and they will use this position into their benefit, naturally.
Super League is where their sights are ultimately.

This, and the repeated (whether justified or not) attacks on UEFA will lead to a situation, eventually, where the Leagues and the clubs will be owned by the same people.
Naturally, none of these people will be the type of folks that anyone would want being involved with their clubs.

These ownership groups are destroying sport. Look at golf and boxing

Smaller example, but pertinent, from my corner of the meadow. Czech hockey team Dynamo Pardubice being bankrolled by the richest man in the country.

Operating on a sky high budget, owner very happy to take to O2 sports and complain about the federation, the league, the rules and the officials at every turn.

It's corrosive, not least because of the sense of entitlement and enablement it builds in their fanbase. Entire competition being undermined at every single turn.

In the City case, no sports officiating body expected to come under this level of scrutiny and pressure. We talk about the "Premier League" when we mean the clubs that make up the competition, in essence they created these rules and expected the members - who asked for them - to abide by them.

City have approached the league, UEFA and all governing bodies as instruments to be smashed. The real story here is to what purpose.... Super League? Global Franchises?

All the City fans trying to defend their club will be a joy to behold when the Manchester Blues and cruising to their Global Soccer Star titles.

I’m sure these “long suffering” City fans from Manchester who have been to every game for the past half century (as they all say they are) will be fine travelling all round Europe and the Middle East every weekend to watch the team in the Super League, and on the off chance they can’t make the game, I’m sure they’ll be happy paying several hundred pounds a month to the multiple streaming services required to watch the games at home.
