Are they preempting a several year transfer ban? It's not as if they need numerous new 50m pound players this season, the Premier League is long gone and they've only got a chance of top four and getting as deep into the Champions League as possible. This absolute farce needs clearing up as soon as possible, whatever they get hit with I am sure they'll have the resources to put it off for years with their lawyers and look for any loopholes and ways to delay and appeal so that they can continue winning and future proof the entire club before they ultimately need to face punishment.

I love how salaries just don’t count for them against the rules. Everton gave Sandro Ramirez £120k a week and they literally trampled a bag of kittens and got to number 1 on the FBI hit list 10 years later but City can dish out a historic contract to Haaland in the middle of a court case about their spending and it’s fine.
