Right, at Old Trafford, Rangers got a draw, Liverpool scored twice, West Brom got a 2-2 draw, Wolves scored twice in the league cup, Wolves lost by the odd goal in three in the league, Valencia managed a draw, Stoke and Liverpool only lost by the odd goal, City and Crawley the same, Marseille and Bolton ditto, add Chelsea to that too. If you go to OT with a negative attitude, as Blackburn and Birmingham have done, you're going to get beat. We're a better side that West Brom and Wolves who have pushed them all the way when United have had a full side out. We could have got at them much more.

We only lost by one goal too, you know, if thats your definition of success.

for match ratings, i would give 9's to Jagielka, Distin (even though his intercepted pass lead to the goal), and Howard, and 1's to everyone else... well not really but you get the idea

i don't understand tony hibbert, he seemed just unwilling to mark his man on numerous occasions. if coleman had the man with the ball, hibbert would stand right behind him as if for cover, and just let his man go free in the box. i can't decide if its fear of the best players that makes hibbert give them loads of space, or if he just gets flustered against top opposition and loses his positional sense.

rodwell was missing the entire game. coleman put in a shift but got dispossesed far to easily. cahill couldn't pass worth a damn. bily and osman looked bad but average compared to the rest of the squad. thought neville was alright but when we play him in midfield, he needs to be much much more disruptive, and he barely put in a tackle.

Hardly seen a good forward pass from Rodwell or Neville all game, even when they had players in front of them running into good positions.

Disagree with that. Rodwell and Neville rarely hoofed and played to feet plenty of time. They played it forward a lot, but the fact Osman, Beckford, Cahill and Anichebe seemed to be incapable to hold the ball up and had it nicked off them pegged us back at any forward push we made.

The only problem I had with Rodwell and Neville was their movement. They were very stilted and let the United midfield drive past them. They were scared of getting forward...the whole team were. But most of United attacks came from the wings where Baines and Hibbo both had bad games, and their wingers didnt really help out either.

If we were trying to avoid relegation or competing for the title with United I would agree with you, but we're not.

Also I can count on one hand the number of teams that have gone to Old Trafford and nicked a 1-0. It does not happen. The only teams that have had any success there are the ones that attack.

Here's the worst of it: we had nothing to lose so could have cut loose a bit and been adventurous; they looked like a team very nervy (as they were against Newcastle) about wrapping up the title with tough games to come. The game should have been approached as an opportunity, not an ordeal we had to see out for 90 minutes.

Fair points both.

90 minutes of my life that I will never get back..

Jags is the only one worth a mention.. Horrible game..

Good news is that those 90 minutes would have otherwise been spent sleeping so I didn't lose all that much.

We always show United to much respect , we could of had a real go today we had nothing to lose but decided to play for a draw .

Crap .

all season? obviously not hes been coming on form for a good few games now, i bet your the type of person that forgets what hes done in the past and how he has played in the past and has his worst ever season here and would like to see him go, also felli does start moves he actually brings the ball on the floor alot simple passin out wide or inside thats startin somethin off isnt it?

Arteta had one decent game against Newcastle where he played from the left and he got injured the very next game. I wouldn't like to see him go actually. I'd like to see him played in a more attacking role (such as from the left), where he can do what he does best and hurt the opposition. Unfortunately, if we're playing on the edge of our own box, even he would be unlikely to trouble them from middle of our half. If that's the game we're going to play, then we need someone who can see the pass in to the space behind the opposition for someone like Beckford or Coleman to run on to. Fella did it against Blackpool, but nobody has consistently shown that sort of vision.

Evening Toffees

Just back from the game (And pub)

I honestly thought that you played really well today ( Dont forget the players that you have got out)

Its funny how Gibson and O Shea go off Giggs come on and we score

I honestly didnt know where a goal was coming from as the game drew on

I think really we shouldn't of sat back in that game. You could see that they were a bit shaky at the back at some points in the game. I think if we would have pushed higher up, and attacked more we could have really tested them. Especially if Beckford got more service.

Hopefully we don't take this same defensive approach against City and Chelsea.
