Evening Toffees

Just back from the game (And pub)

I honestly thought that you played really well today ( Dont forget the players that you have got out)

Its funny how Gibson and O Shea go off Giggs come on and we score

I honestly didnt know where a goal was coming from as the game drew on

One thing that did make me laugh was Sky rambling on about Gibson having a great shot and being really dangerous. Load of **** he is and couldn't hit a ****ing barn door all game.

Nev whats going on with Giggs is it him who took the superinjuction out because his name has been thrown in the hat .

I am normally very patient and supportive towards players particularly young ones

Same reason as we can argue with Moyes choice, because even great Managers get things wrong sometimes.

Quite simply we defended really well, but were crap everywhere else.

Moyes had the defence well drilled, but you can't come to Old Trafford and expect to get a point if all you do is defend for 90 minutes. Our ball retention was pathetic. And really, with nothing to lose, why didn't we go for it? We should have been looking to counter at least, but United's players always got back before our players made their way up there!!

That said, we should have had a pen, really. The first was clear for me, and the second, well, it wasn't a stonewall one but he makes no attempt to go for the ball and uses his arm to push Anichebe down. But hey, you can't expect to get a pen at Old Trafford.

On a positive note... at least that wraps up no. 19 for them? Nah... I'm sorry. I don't care. Sure, it will be nice to see Liverpool fans shut up a bit now (hopefully), but I'm a fan of Everton first, and a hater of the RS second. With their weakened defence, and crap center midfield, we could have got something from that if we'd have not paid them so much respect. I love Moyes, but I'm sick of us acting like we're a league 2 team when we face the top sides.

Having had a chance to watch it we sat right back off them and gave them as much room as they wanted to play. I don't blame Distin for the goal. We'd cleared the danger and it was a second phase of attacking. Hibbo was caught watching the ball rather than sticking to his man. We actually had only two defenders against three United men at the back stick. It's an example of how we need to move up and down the pitch at greater pace.

Just watched the match. Pity we wasted what was probably Jags best game for us and an excellent defensive performance. It took a great finish from Hernandez to close us out so props to him. I know his mistake costed us but Distin was also excellent. Its enevitable that your going to make one mistake when Utd is putting that much pressure on you. I thought when Evra was introduced he changed the match. We were playing extremely well and comfortable in defense and showing something in the attacking end however when he came on his pressure just sucked all 10 of our guys back.

Billy bleech. Shoved around by the likes of Fabio who isn't exactly a heavyweight. I don't think it was a considence that we started playing well when he went off. Its nice when he produces the odd screamer once in a blue moon but he's hurting Baines game too as Leyton is now forced to sit back covering him.

Anichebe did some OK things in the 1st part of the 2nd half but please just stop embarrassing yourself and the club Victor. No way that was a penalty. His final touch was poor and went to ground with the slightest touch. When he's on he's almost always the biggest and strongest man on the pitch yet somehow manages to drop like a sack of bricks every time he's touched. I'm beyond sick of his whining. Every time a call doesn't go his way he's throwing his hands up and/or immediately appeals for a foul every single time he goes to ground. No ref with 1/2 a brain will ever give you a penalty when you have the rep that Victor has. I almost threw my controller when he single handedly killed one of our few scoring opportunities lying on the turf when Osman or Coleman was driving down toward the touchline with tons of space. Yak may have been fat and lazy but at least scored once in a while and rarely if ever went to ground.

We just looked like deer in headlights this game. And the fact that we only lost by 1 was a godsend. Defense almost made it through. Sigh.

Jags/Distin played solid (minus the one Distin brainfart - which I can't really blame him for since he spent the entire game turning back waves), bless you Tim Howard as well. Everyone else was Meh today. (If not downright bad).

But hey, it could have been worse. Onwards and upwards hopefully.

Hope we spend something, anything, in the summer to get someone new.
