To be fair to Moyes you could see that he was signalling for the defence to move up. Because they were so deep it meant that there was too much space in midfield for Neville and Rodwell to cover. We've got pace at the back, so we could have kept a higher line. By the looks of it, we were lucky not to concede more than one.

Why didnt the ref book VDS for time wasting then?

Anyway...he put us in a bad position when we had the ball under no pressure to be honest.

He paniced and they scored.

And we're never going to get a peno at OT.

I thought the ref did a good job. That wasn't a pen on Anichebe. No one is ever going to give him a pen as he whines and goes to ground looking for a foul as much as he does. Howard deserved the card because he was time wasting from the 20th minute. VDS did the same but not as much. Plus the ref gave us 5 minutes to try to get equalizer as well.

I didn't think we were bad today. The number of teams that have won there in the prem is 0, the number of teams who got a pt there was 1. Plus United's finishing hasn't really been up to snuff the past couple of weeks. We almost did pull the smash and grab with Rodwell's shot too and we created 3-4 scoring opportunites.

If you compare the challenge to Victor's finest moment in an Everton shirt, when he shoulder-barged a European opponent into the middle of next week, he did go down too easily. Generally speaking, I think his confidence is low in front of goal, so it's easier to go down than to risk missing.

I am feeling a bit 'empty'. We didn't go to win the match and we didn't. Success?
Always a tough place to go for us, I just feel we are capable of giving them a game.
Defence was mostly superb though, just as well!

It pathetic because when he was 19-20 he never went to ground and he never whined. If there was a scramble in the middle of the box he had a knack for pouncing on it and putting it in the back of the net. I used to think at worst he'd be a super sub for us for many years.

Ferdinand played the man, got none of the ball, Anichebe had control of it the whole time.

Ferdinand used both hands on his opponent to push him off the ball.

It wasn't just two players coming together, it was a clear foul.

If that's not a penalty, I don't know what is.

And I don't know why the United keeper doesn't get booked for swapping the goal kicking side, and Howard does?

I dunno how anyone can put up with the blatant favouring of United when they play at home. It's so obvious.

Bit harsh on Ton', that, mate.

I think the problem today was with the midfield/attack and the generally dour tactics.

not on about today am on about the last ten f//ken years

Maybe find a Hibbo thread to have your rant then, not the match one.

That said, whilst I can see your frustration, it's just a harmless little gag. In many ways we're a massive joke; business faux-pas left, right and center... no respect from the media etc. But the whole Hibbo riot thing is just a bit of silly fun, mate. We've not got much else to laugh about, eh?

Your non-Hibbo points aside, you're completely right, mate. And this frustration and pain is warranted, and it is shared.

Ever heard of gallows humour, though? Things look bleak for us, but if Hibbo gets the ball at the half way line and the Goodison crowd scream "SHOOT!", then that cheers me up a bit. It certainly doesn't depress me.

Hibbo is a good defender, mate. He was outclassed in the FA cup final, but if you remember, Osman gave him no protection at all. This is a bit of a tangent, but I do feel your Hibbert vendetta is a tad misguided. And I don't think Kenwright's antics are influenced one iota by our treatment of Hibbo!

just got a red card off muggins for my outburst ,come back matt damon all is forgiven /

Still over the top on our recent form with our b team.

I now see Hibbo just can't cut it in warm weather. A weakened United side did the business to us. Cahill still looks hobbled. I really have the comfort with all the financial worries and probable player losses in the summer to balance the books we have had some pleasant surprises in Vellios & Gueye. We have come a long way after a steep decline earlier in the year.
