Dave, my comment was not an excuse for Brands over Niasse.

Niasse is contracted tillJune when he becomes a free agent, to all intents and purposes, he is now.
Nobody in their right mind is willing to buy him and certainly not when, if they really want him, he can be signed for nothing in June.
Until then, he is quite clearly willing to just accept his contracted salary for doing sod all.

Pray enlighten us as to exactly how Brands or anybody else for that matter is/was expected to extract a fee for in this transfer window from anybody ?

You mention IGG and Lookman - both were in demand, and both wanted to move. IGG moved to further his career with a contender, Lookman because he didn't have what it takes to work hard and earn his place.
Andy you are

Are you going to avoid posting and replying to comments about Kean when he starts banging them in and go to another thread to bash someone else? Or will you say 'I called Kean a divvy and should show a little more class towards a teenager who wants to be a success for my club'
No, I'll be delighted if he starts doing what he's supposed to. Unfortunately on the evidence so far he looks very unlikely to do so.

Looks a dud to me...in this league anyway. It can happen. Not everyone can adapt to this league.

You are talking as if Everton have a conditioned and smooth style of play, consistency in their results and shape, good players playing well all over the pitch, and Kean came in, and was a dud and ruined everything. He has had 5 PL starts, his last performance was good. He has potential that far outweighs DCL's. Most fans would have taken an £8m offer last summer from some Championship team cos he 'will never be a top striker' and all that bs. It is sad - now they've all gone quiet. You say you will be delighted but you then say he'll only be doing what he's supposed to do. It's cringe-worthy.

Date of birth13 May 1993

2012–13 season: Loan to West Bromwich Albion

He was 19 when he joined WBA, he had scored 0 goals in 15 Chelsea games.
Yes, I apologise. He turned 20 just before he joined u on loan.

So *just* the 50 goals he scored up until then in 118 games...a strike rate of a goal in less than every 2.5 games.

You are talking as if Everton had a good consistent result-getting team, a solid defence, great attackers and a cohesive unit - and Kean has come in and ruined it all - a dud. Everton under Silva in his whole time here had never managed 3 wins in a row. That's the club and team he came into. You say you will be delighted but add he'll only be doing what he's supposed to do. It is a cringeworthy, annoying attitude. You won't be delighted, you will pounce on Kean every opportunity you will get.

Erm no Dave, you said he scored 62 top flight goals before he was 19.

He scored ZERO.

Get back under your rock, im sure theres an International break coming soon.

You seem to be wanting to have yoiur cake and eat it here: this is a thread about Brands' performance. If Kean isn't the problem because the team is useless, who's fault is that?

It is made up. Delph, Lossl and Sidibe are all over 25. You can argue semantics over what 'buy' means all you want, but your point was about longer term strategy and growth. You can't just discount loans and frees in that because they don't fit with what you want the strategy to be. I haven't got time to check now, but according to a post I made last January, Brands signed 5 players aged over 27 in his last 3 years at PSV. I will have checked that at the time, i'm not one for just making stuff up, unlike some...
The chap did say BUY

Koeman & Walsh, Silva & Brands to a far lesser degree, stop-gaps like Allardyce. Injuries, lack of confidence. Like Ancelotti said, the team is too 'shy'. Loads of Everton fans would have laughed if I'd said DCL will be worth £50m in a couple of years. Lots would have gladly sold him to QPR for £8m a year ago. Can't believe your attitude towards Kean. It's like you hate him.
