We did that last year and look how it turned out.

First and foremost, we need the right manager to get the most out of this squad.

From there we move forward.

Obviously, there's positions such as a CB, LB and back-up GK which are priorities - these must be signed.

Then, we have the possibility of another midfielder, but we'll likely need to move Besic and at least one of the others out first.

Then, potentially a striker, depending on what the new manager thinks of Niasse/DCL as back-up options.

And probably a winger, again depending on what the new manager thinks of Bolasie/Vlasic/Lookman.

The last thing we need to do is the scattergun approach of the second half of the window last year.

The first half of the window we were concise and had clear targets - that we got wrapped up quickly.

5-6 players in for me, with probably 10 out in total.
I've said before, there's absolutely nothing wrong with signing a load of players at the same time. There are countless examples of it working perfectly.

Our problem last season was that many of the players we signed simply weren't good enough. Whether we signed 2 players or 20, Michael Keane would still have turned like a cruiseliner, and Sandro still wouldn't have been able to hit a barndoor. It's just putting two and two together and getting 5 to think our problems were related to the number of incomings.

If we recruit properly, by identifying the areas that need strengthening and bringing in players of sufficient quality, bringing in 7-8 players would not necessarily be a bad thing.

Mino is his agent?

I think it was officially done a few weeks a go, but it's interesting that we contacted him 2 years a go. Mino it seems has done a job there for us to sort a meal deal out.

He might be a nice guy after all. lol

We can't bring in 7-8 players without shipping at least 10/11 out.

We do that then fine.

But can you actually name an example of loads of players being brought in in the same window working wonders - in the Premier League in the last, say, 8/9 years?

While I agree with you that first and foremost it's the quality of the players that matters, there also needs to be a leanness and sharpness to the squad, while having the quality back-up in place as well - it's obviously a fine balance.

It's a definite skill to integrate that many players, Emery did it at Sevilla for 3 seasons and won the EL. I'm struggling to think of many other examples.

This. It had nothing to do with them not having "time to gel" or any of that clichéd crap, they were just rubbish. And our existing players were rubbish as well, so we ended up with just a squad of rubbish. We won't miss 12 of those rubbish players if we bin them in one window and replace them with 8 decent to good players.

Brands whose main signings have been around 5m and Silva who got hull relegated and got sacked at watford.

Is this really a step up.
They're the questions - we'll find out soon enough. When you look at it in the cold hard light of day you'd be hard pushed to be overly optimistic about the new set up. Brands lacks experience in a top flight league and Silva's record in the Premier League is poor.

Exactly.
You need a big name in both positions

It depends what you mean by working wonders, but the best example of it having a huge impact would probably be Leicester, who finished 14th in 2015, brought in 7 first team players (and 2 more in January) and won the league in 2016. City have brought in 6 (effectively 7 due to Zinchenko having been immediately loaned out last season) this year and won the league, while Brighton (11) and Huddersfield (12) would argue that they've had successful seasons in a relative sense.

No I mean like Mino is Brands' agent so when Everton approach him it obviously needs to go from Everton > Mino > Brands.

Nothing to read in that IMO.
