Cannot believe some actually think ridding of Mori is a good idea. Despite how bad some people think he is, we still have Jags, William's and Keane on our list who are all worse. Let's not sweat on a relatively unproven Holgate either. At the least Mori is a perfect back up.

I’m not sure Silva would be the right man, not when the likes of Benitez is in reach. I’d even go for LVG before Silva.

Funnily enough, I`ve just had a conversation with a neighbour, who is an very well respected sports journo ( no names ), about this very subject. (@Connor knows who he is )

He said that as far as the footy journo`s are concerned, Silva is 100% the next manager, like it or not.

He has direct access to the club.

There is no one else in the running.

That person earning a wage from Everton Football Club is enough of a concern to warrant doing something about it.

Don't want to get carried away but absolute love that he seems to be coming in with a clear plan and a wealth of footballing knowledge. Actually seems to understand his role, unlike fraud walsh. Hopefully we see serious improvements next season but I hope people don't try and run him out of the club after one shortened transfer window. To become a consistent success it will take at least a couple seasons. We have so much garbage to get rid of. It will be difficult cleaning up walsh's mess.

What is so fraudulent about a fella we plucked out of the Argentinean leagues for under 10m and is on modest wages?

No, a fraud is Schneiderlin. Gives nothing, doesn't try and sucks 120k a week out of the club.

At the very worst Mori is good enough as fourth choice. The idea that we should enter a season with 3 new CBs and Holgate is absurd. We have about 7 players who must depart before we try get rid of someone who some fans are annoyed with over a red card some years ago.

We finished 8th this year, let's be more realistic for just a moment. Out of 12 clubs who finished beneath us, perhaps 2 are more highly rated than Mori

We have guys walking out on training, seniors spitting the dummy, a midfield who cant pass AT ALL and we are worried about a 3rd choice LB or RB on a minimal wage. Give me strength.

Seriously if we go down that path, we may as well start naming Garbutt or even Davies. Ain't seen anyone mention either.

Walsh came on the back of some decent signings from leicester so you can see why he was offered the job. And allardyce has a reputation for keeping clubs up, again you can see why he was signed at the time.

Brands and Silva have no pedigree what so ever.
It's like giving someone the job of being a surgeon after only completing 1 year of a medicine degree.

Walsh was a scout. Not a DoF with over 10 years exoerience. Allardyce was the absolutely worst posdible choice of manager for everton which is exactly why he stayed less than 6 months and is hated by majority of fans.

Not saying Brands is world class but other clubs have tried to poach him in the past. We haven't even picked a manager yet but I guarantee whoever he will be better than Allardyce

If we want to show signs of moving forward then we can’t be keeping League 2 players even as backup. That’s what everyone said when we signed him “oh he’ll never play, he’s just a cheap backup”, and then he ended up playing 28 games and causing our eyeballs irreversible damage.

We brought in 10 last year and like you I don't think it was the amount of players that were the issue as such, but either the quality or their roles in the team not being defined. The issue perhaps wasn't who we signed, but who we didn't sign (a striker, a left-back).

However, because of the amount we brought in, we then had a squad of close to 30 including the young players and it all adds up.

I'd rather bring in 5-6 quality players with clear, defined roles in the side/squad, than 7-8 players who haven't got defined roles/uses, even if the quality is there (I think this has been part of Klaassen/Sandro failures, and was also part of the reason Sigurdsson struggled (as well as fitness).

We have a massive squad as it is and need to trim it.

We definitely need a left-back, a quality centre-back and a back-up goalkeeper. Those are musts.

We should be targeting a powerful central-midfield player who also has quality on the ball (I think Doucoure would be ideal, and someone like Serri from Nice could also be this type of player).

A striker like Dembele I think would be perfect for us, but there isn't enough room for four strikers in this squad. This is where the manager will have to decide whether he wants DCL or Niasse to stay moving forward.

Then the other position to target could be a quality winger/wide playmaker. Lozano would be a fantastic addition. However, this would also require us to ship one of our current wingers out - I do still like Bolasie and want to see what he can do after a pre-season with us, which he has never had, but he'd be the first to go out of the current bunch. We also need to ensure that wouldn't block the path of Lookman or Vlasic.

In terms of outs, this is the big area we need to focus on as well.

There is a fantastic defender inside Mori, trust me. Under a decent Manager (who believes in him) he will flourish.

hes a faux hard man who just kicks people and passes to the opposition, useless. hopefully can flog him to italy or spain for a profit.
we dont need 3 new centrebacks, 1 quality one will do. we have no european football next season and feeney, gibson or 1 or 2 other of our promising centrebacks can be given game time if necessary.
