A stable club financially can tell any other club where to get off. And they can also make sure that any club that continues to press their case is hammered for it by the authorities.
That's nonsense. Clubs rebuff other club interest all the time. It happens each transfer window. You fail to note one point which puts all the power in the hands of player.
If club fails to sell player there's no chance any agent is pushing players to sign up for said club. Its a buying and selling relationship that's required.
If we keep players against there will, word will soon get out and no one is signing for us.
What did we stand to gain by keeping a player whose heart isn’t in it? No one wanted Gana to stay more then me. But I’ve no doubt when PSG came calling in the January, Gana was given assurances he could leave. Certainly with no european football to offer, let alone champions league football, we didn’t stand a chance of keeping him.No, they dont.
He signed a contract. Everton had the power.
At least another season could have been demanded of him. At least that.

I suppose we should really be thankful to the new regime that we are now a financially stable club.A stable club financially can tell any other club where to get off. And they can also make sure that any club that continues to press their case is hammered for it by the authorities.
Why did we need to offer Gueye a bigger contract? He'd agreed to a contract extension on better terms a year previously to secure him here until 2022. Why would the club feel the need - everytime another club showed interest in him - to keep on renegotiating Gueye's contract? Once PSG came calling, we werwe in a perfect position to rebuff them. But we didn't because the DoF didn't want to retain Gueye, despite the manager's wishes.Gana has been badly missed in hindsight. Having said that it was probably the right thing to let him go. His age meant he wasn't going to be here long enough to see the club take shape as is planned (in regards to the stadium and squad trimming). The club has a ton of deadwood to shift.
Gbamin's injury has been a huge issue, and one that circumstances dictated. Gomes injury and Morgan's daft red card made the perfect storm from day one.
The alternative was to offer Gana a bigger contract with guarantees, thus having another peak player on a long contract, who will only deteriorate during that time. Once PSG came calling, our hand was forced to sell. Brands signed Delph to help Gbamin settle into that role, on paper it makes sense. Sadly Fabian has been woeful.
This has enabled the emergence of Holgate in the role, which has been a suprise bonus. He and Gbamin could prove excellent in a fluid CH/DM position. Both with age on their side too.
Man United and Liverpool get the most out of their players before selling.Tell that to Man United and the RS
Well that's the issue isn't it? We're told we are.I suppose we should really be thankful to the new regime that we are now a financially stable club.
Yes but it was you who just told us.Well that's the issue isn't it? We're told we are.
I come on here sometimes for a good laugh ,thanks .You have the most twisted view of reality it is really refreshing ,a chance to live a parallel life so to speakwith no consequencesWhy did we need to offer Gueye a bigger contract? Why did Brands do that? Maybe he was under pressure to show that he could actually do the selling side of his job and wanted a sale.
