from a business point of view we are shocking

buying assets worth 30-40 mil and then loaning them out every season for 3 years in a row and then recouping 0-5 mil for them in their last year of their contracts is absurd

most clubs would have identified that player being a problem in the future and tried to recoup or salvage some of the money paid early on by flogging them to every club around

saving wages is stupid because you would have saved the wage anyway once a buyer had been found

if we cannot sell them because they are on high wages to begin with and no one will match it or come close to it then whose fault is that, surely the people who negotiated the wages in the first place

if the reason we are paying high wages is because of the amount of tv money and revenue that comes in because of the fact that we play in the prem league then surely our transfer model should change and we should stop signing prem players on high wages and look to sign players from the eredivise, liga nos, or league 1 where the likes of 20-30k a week is a significant wage increase for star players in those divisions and if they flop here, can be easily sold on i.e. klaasen

and players for those divisons are not crap, bruno fernandes has already become one of man utds best players in the space of 2-3 weeks and yes i know he will be on about 150k a week now but does anyone know how much he was earning at sporting lisbon, was probably around 50k a week

Yeh because this happens to all our transfers...

Iwobi, Gbamin, Kean and Sidibe.

That really was a terrible summer from Brands, wasn’t it?

Going to be very interesting and scary to see what Brands comes up with this summer.

Barely played under a decent manager.
Injured
One for the future
Crap but only a loan

Reckon whilst we're all stuck in lockdown you could try be less of a miserable git

His fanboys will never call a spade a spade and admit he had a shocker of a window.

It took Silva taking us to almost Mike Walker levels of bad before his fanboys finally woke up and smelt the coffee so you'll be waiting a while for them to wake up to Brands.

Saying that im happy to judge him fully based on this window coming considering he did alright in his 1st - another pot of money squandered however and he needs booting to timbuktu.

I think his first window hasn’t stood the test of time either. It’s only really Richarlison who’s kicked on.

And his doubters wont give him any leeway regarding the injuries to Gomes, Gmblammo and the fact that Kean hardly played.

So lets not pretend his doubters are fair and reflective.

Ive readily admitted that spending 30m+ on Iwobi is utter criminal.

I hope he comes good but at the end of the day we’re 12th, 3/4 of a season through. He’s now had four windows and must be responsible for 8/9 even 10 supposed first teamers. Let’s take gbamin out but the state of the team will tell you how good the transfers have been.

I dont think you will see the best of Brands until our transfer ban is up for signing youth players. Thats where he has a good track record.

In that case he should just be a scout and not DOF mate.

We aint no penniless dutch minnows needing to scout 750k bargains to moneyball we are shopping in the big boys market and need proven quality.
