But there will have been interest in a player who for the last two seasons at least has been surplus to requirments. The argument has always been that if you drop the fee to rock bottom you at least entice a club to take him off your hands...which is what looks to be the case now.
I’ve got a 2007 Subaru Outback with 167,000 miles on it and a leaking head gasket. You can buy it from me for £100 but you have to pay £500 a month to operate it. Sound like a deal?

And that is an analogy that doesn't scan. Nice are about to take his wages on as long as Everton sell for €2M. That type of deal could have been done before. The fact it wasn't underlines what a duffer Brands is.

Also, if the car gets to decide whether or not it wants you to buy it.

Delph is terrible in hindsight but I can understand why he was brought in. A smart gamble that ultimately hasn’t paid off.

You don’t think these statements contradict each other?

You think Schneiderlin with his wages boxed off wouldn't want to live in the south of France rather than the north west of England?

Let's just face it, we have a DoF who couldn't sell soup to starving navvies in the middle of winter.

If there was any interest last summer and he was willing to go, he'd have been sold in an instant, but you know that

I dont. It looks to me like the club were holding out for a decent fee. Maybe we'll see more of these giveaways this summer.

Or that Morgan Schneiderlin's services weren't in demand. Can't think why.

I genuinely don't know how to get away from these sort of albatrosses we have. We have some of the worst purchases I've ever seen and cannot move a single one of them without a MASSIVE hit on what we bought them for.
Delph...Schneiderlin...Sigurdsson...Bolasie...Walcott...Tosun...Sandro...Keane... all on minimum 70 thousand a week, the top earner on around 120 thousands a week. Not a single one has ever offered us anything remotely decent on a consistent basis , some never offered us a thing ever )Sandro), and some (Delph) have actively made us worse when on the field . Can't sell a single one for even half of what we paid.
