His ball winning and general break up play was fantastic. He sadly joined his when all our better players decided to start leaving and we replaced them with garbage.
Selective memory here. The first season he was brilliant, second he was poor last season he was mixed. Also, he was very good at one job his passing was average to below average at times. Sure he is better than any DM we have now and allowed us to push up but let's not laud him like he was a world-beater. He was very effective at the hassling and intercepting job but there is more to playing midfield especially in a two than that.

He was excellent throughout his whole career with us.

Of course his passing was poor to very poor. If it was good he would be worth 60-70 mill!

His break up play was/is as good as anything on planet football. We haevn't had a footballer with skills in any
department up with the best 3/4 in the world since Wayne Rooney.

I remember back as a kid 40 odd years ago and today, the wise heads would always say its the grafters and
breakers up in midfield that never got the full credit.

Peter Reid was awesome at it and when he wasnt injured we were almost unbeatable. And guess what I can count on the fingers
of me hands the times he gave the ball away in years of playing for us.
`Hes worth a million pounds' - imagine what he would be worth in todays game!

We are left with a centre mid now that wouldnt know what a tackle looked like and they don't bother or physically cant track runners properly, Going forward they are inept as well!

Our back 4 had been boosted by Holgates form and DCL has been a revelation up front.

So guess why we are languishing a hopeless 12th place and been involved in the most shameful performance in our clubs history,

I would suggest mostly due to a pathetic midfield and appalling goalkeeper.

With the footballing world ever changing amidst the covid19 pandemic, I think you'll get a good idea what clubs have the best DoF and managers in place.

I'm not a financial whizz but I think it's a good guess to suggest the transfer market is likely to be hugely volatile as incomes at clubs across the board fluctuates and drops. The uncertainty will be significant and will create opportunity and risk for virtually every club, though to differing degrees.

I think how Brands deals with the next 18 months will be look backed on as pivotal for the long term success of the club. Those who adapt best, both on and off the pitch, to the uncertainty and strangeness of the current circumstances will be the ones who succeed. Massive test for all DoFs including Brands.

Let's see what he's made of.

My concern is the number of punts he takes on crocks. It must be 50% of all signngs he;s made come here injured or with longstanding injury records.

If I was Moshiri I wouldn't give him a penny.
Gbamin had basically never been injured before joining. The Gomes injury was a complete fluke so you must just be on about about Delph.

Gana was with us for 3 years, in that time we lost 60 league games.

Thats 20 games a season we lost with him in the side, he was good at what he did and useful for 6 games a season, other than that he ran around a lot.
This isn’t tennis, there’s quite a few other people in the team. 10 if I remember correctly and those are just the ones on the field at any given time.

This is a strange statement.
Not so strange really. I do agree with it.

Gueye was a great signing and did really well for us on the field and in terms of transfer fees but he had his limitations as a player.

I don't think he was a player that was of interest to any of the top six teams in the Premiership and if our ambition is to get to that level or better we need players that work incredibly hard , are able to retain possession, are able to regain possession and also be creative and weigh in with the odd goal.... in other words we need players who are better at everything.

I think it comes back to ambition, if our ambition was to be a top ten club then he would be perfect but if the ambition is higher then I think his limitations may well show.
Getting the calibre of player who is of a higher standard all round than Gana is really quite a challenge because he was so effective for us.

Maybe it was 60 games in total then.

We lost a LOT.
We did, in spite of having Gueye not because of him. Think you're being overly harsh on him because of the fact that he played for us while we were a poor side. Great players have played for bad sides before. Watching him play for PSG in the Champions League confirms that he was exactly that, a great player in a poor side.

I reckon I could slot into that PSG side.

He was signed unfit to start. This is the Brands' signature signing: signing players unfit, carrying knocks and needing treatment, long term sick notes...and usually with a fee of £30M to go with them.

If Walsh had signed the muck Brands signed there would be no debate.

I dont know what others see; but I see an incompetent, jug headed Dutchman.
