Think.brands has done ok tbh. Mainly good players in,. Some the jury is still out like Iwobi, mina. Delph is the worse but prob worth a gamble. Reduced the age of the squad. Got a decent nucleus DCL Richo holgate digne. Like the look of Gordon and branthwaite.
Big summer for brands though hopefully get the right players in and improve the team

Has started to get rid of the rubbish in the team. McCarthy lookman(who) for good money.
Here's hoping he gets this summer right

Didnt sign Holgate or DCL mate.

He's not only here to do transfers, and we don't really know the full extent of his involvement in transfers

...Ancelotti quoted in the Echo as saying he and Brands get on really well, they have offices close together and talk daily. They have been talking about targets for a while and all transfers have to be agreed by them both.

Brands has been a bit of a fan of self-promotion in the past, to put it mildly.

I'd have more respect for him over the coming weeks if he came out and admitted that mistakes have been made on his watch, and he will learn from them. That would be something at least, considering he is likely to be here for some time yet. I don't think any of the bigger clubs, here or in Europe, will be at all enamoured by the job he is doing here, so I don't forsee a lot of offers his way.

It must be hard for Ancelotti to look at a player like Iwobi knowing Brands approved.

Every window in my view we try to do too much within that window, and end up compromising as the deadline nears. We need to do earlier business, and make use of the January window.

Even a single successful signing will always be better than five mediocre, or failed ones.

You must be a Trump fan. Thinking Brands has done a good job is like thinking Trump is the best president the US ever had. The guy got it wrong with everything he has done so far. Give me half of his money, at least i would only do a quarter of the s... he has done. Not very difficult i know....

Arguably that is so but there were other mangers involved during that time so really the mistakes are not just him.

What good would that do though? I’m pretty sure he’ll be well aware that some of his signings have been awful.

The only thing I care about is that he gets it right this summer.

I only really brought it up in the context that Brands himself likes a spot in the limelight when it suits.

Ancelotti, after barely a wet weekend in the job, has seen enough to call out the commitment and attitude levels in the squad, Coleman has done the same.

This sort of thing isn't enough on its own of course, but we have had season after season of this now and Brands has been here two years.

Everyone in a senior role at the club, Ancelotti and his staff aside, and Brands leads all of them in the clubs football hierarchy, needs to engage in some reflection and show some accountability and take responsibility.

We make the same mistakes year after year.

I know ive given him a bit of stick recently, but thats borne out of frustration, but im prepared to give him this window. I said it would take three years to turn this squad around and ill stick to that before i cast a concrete judgement.

Red flags mind, squad woefully unbalanced, central midfield, wide areas, arguably center back and full backs. Big wage bill and an over hang in the squad.

Lets see what he can do. Hopefully Carlo will be a help to him.
