The DOF model works, just need the right DOF, which we have now, K an W didn’t get on and fought over signingcwith no real plan. Kenwright and RE fired him.

Under Brands it’s his way or he will fire you... he buys the players, he will discuss with Silva? An then he will buy the players based on the system he (Brands) has implanted and Silva will use the players to that style.

Brands seems to me like Moyes in the transfer market, goes very in-depth about the player including his character. Hopefully he doesn’t have David’s dithering

Surely nobody can dither as much as dm did!

Has to be said. Brands did more in 5 minutes than Walsh did in 2 years.

He comes in and talks about everything he will be involved in and how important it is before he has even officially started the job.

Walsh meanwhile was like a bloke who lied in interview and when sat in the new office didn't have a clue what the job actually entailed. Going to meet Italian reps last summer for example and coming back without any sort of transfer dealings in place was just completely amateur, why did he even go?! He looked like a grandad who had wandered off on a tour and was being escorted back to it.

We should be cautious of building him up to knock him down. There are lessons to be learned.

It's good that he seems a nice chap, obviously highly thought of at PSV as well. Seems to know what he wants and hit the ground running.

But he, like the rest of them, needs to be judged on results. On the pitch most obviously, but off of it as well.

Let's support the guy and give him time and patience certainly.

I'll reserve judgement for a couple of years yet though.

Walsh was a disaster, no doubt about it, but we should be cautious before lauding Brands, he hasn't actually done anything yet.

Do we?

Well, only time will tell really.

Let's face it, we know nothing about him or his capabilities. You cant read anything off his Dutch club performance.
No but you can look at the players he has found who have gone on to bigger things, such as Wijnaldum who is going to be lining up in the CL final tomorrow (hopefully coming away with a losers medal!) Id love us to bring in someone like Lozano and hopefully Brands can find a few others like that.
