We should be cautious of building him up to knock him down. There are lessons to be learned.

It's good that he seems a nice chap, obviously highly thought of at PSV as well. Seems to know what he wants and hit the ground running.

But he, like the rest of them, needs to be judged on results. On the pitch most obviously, but off of it as well.

Let's support the guy and give him time and patience certainly.

I'll reserve judgement for a couple of years yet though.

Brands hasn`t done anything yet, as he`s only been here two minutes and is probably still sharpening the knives for the inevitable clear out.

He`s saying the right things, which is good, but let`s reserve judgement until he actually starts his job properly - when the new manager comes in.

Remember, we all thought Walsh was going to be the new saviour too

Yep just read that, finishing off loose ends. No movement on transfers at u23 till he gets is quite a strong message that he’ll be very hands on

My hope is that he's allowed to do the job he's been hired to do without interference from members of the board, no sentimentality or quiet words in his ear. I'm sure he will have been doing research and have a pretty good idea of what is needed. Don't need him thinking Jagielka is surplus only to have wonderful Bill telling him 'he's been here years, he's family...'

He doesnt start with us until June 1st apparently so can't see any issue, think it's quite refreshing tbh

He has already identified where we need to sort things out though, for instance he has already decided we need a cull of the recruitment dept (long overdue imo) and i have no doubt he will have players in mind who he feels can do a job for the club. Also the fact that we have already decided to let some of the youth team go, including last years captain shows he along with other members of the coaching team only want the best there, and i have no doubt that we will see some improvements in the coaching team shortly as we are with the recruitment team. It looks as though it will very much be quality over quantity.

I'm impressed at his energy tbf. Carrying out a detailed and rigorous search for Everton's next manager AND living and working in Holland for PSV FT.

Perhaps, but it seems obvious there's a change of approach. Getting shut of Elstone is one of the best things to happen to us for some time.
