No mate.

The transfer window was negotiated in a cohesive manner. The manager and DOF working together to identify and acquire targets, then being backed by the owner. They have all acted as a united team, hence they have acted cohesively. What im excited about is to see the result of those cohesive actions.

I want disagreeing with your sentiment, I just felt that you perhaps picked up.on the wrong thing. Truth is, we won't k ow results for a while yet, but se do know how they went about the transfer window.

It's not a famiiar concept to me that definition of cohesion.

Cohesion means, yes, working in unison...but something is working in unison in a coherent way when they all slot together and prove integration of roles are working. Now, how can we possible be at that stage? You cant declare, for example, people working on a car to have been coherently working together if - when it comes to starting the engine - the assembled parts dont allow you to move off.

What (I think) you have been meaning is that the club have been working in unison. The coherent part we've yet to find out...from today we will, of course.

He didn't ask him to backload all the signings so he has to start practically from scratch first day of the season.
Come on Dave. You know as well as I do that Silva would want to run the rule over the players first. He'll just be glad to get the players on board. But you continue to pick holes as is your wont.

No mate, you're not listening to the manager. He's referenced the lateness of arrivals again yesterday. Is the manager wrong?

He also went out of his way to praise Brands for the job he had one. Yes he said he would liked to have had the players in earlier but said "this was the market". He didn't say "this was Marcel".

As usual you hear what you want to hear and ignore what you don't..

No mate, you're doing that. He said 'the market is the market' in relation to value for money for Richarlison and in terms of loan deals.

I'll play it back again when I get a chance. The only time he mentioned Brands from memory is at the very start of the presser when he actually went out of his way to praise him.

As you surely must know mate , players and their agents hold out for the best deal and the biggest clubs available to them. So Mina for example was undoubtedly holding out for a champions league club to enter the fray. It is the nature of the beast that is the transfer window. In an ideal world we would all want the playersin earlier but it was not to be , through no fault of anyone. Try and be positive about something for once. You never know , you may even enjoy it

I’m very happy with the players he’s brought in, and look forward to the vision he’s bringing to the club.

Oh sorry is that too positive?
Not at all. It's nice to have someone who looks like they know what they're doing for a change. I wasn't sure how it was going to work between him and Silva, but they both know their roles, and have obvious respect for each other, and now it's Silva's time to get the best out of what we still have, and the new signings.
It's still his first window after all, and it's been a difficult one at that, but I'm confident he'll be busy behind the scenes, looking to improve us further.

It's not hard for any fan to identify who needs to leave and then let them go on favourable loan terms for the club loaning them; and it's not difficult using a market in players who are surplus to requirements at their existing clubs.

Shooting fish in a barrel I'd call it, especially if you've got the ability to pay good wages.
So easy that our previous, highly paid Director of Football couldn’t do it...

While I agree that those players are not good enough we would need replacements for some of them to give the squad depth and balance
Can’t just promote youth unless they are good enough

Who needs replacing?

Cuco
Schneiderlin
Bolasie
Sandro
McCarthy
Besic
Pennington
Galloway
Browning
Vlasic
