After their title win, there is no reason at all not to progress this now, if both sides want it.

His comments today suggest its more likely than not.

Then just get it done if so. We don't have the luxury of time.

Considering how long this 'courtship' appears to have gone on for ,its hard to shake the nagging feeling that we are going to be left standing alone at the altar once again.

Koeman comes in and it's a totally different way of playing, a counter attacking set up but with slow, keep possession midfielders.

Koeman actually had midfielders that could move the ball quickly. Klaassen and Siggy are pretty extreme versions of guys that play one touch, move the ball type of play. He also never got the CF and CB he asked for HOWEVER, it's probably a good thing he never got them as it might not have exposed him for the inflexible manager he was.

Regardless, the idea that a U23 or even a U18 team would play differently from the senior team is about as dumb as it gets. To not have some basic, fundamental tactical things each team does is just embarrassing in this day and age.

Brands DoF & Walsh chief scout the likely scenario.
"Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is bringing in top agent Mino Raiola to mastermind a Goodison revolution.

Moshiri already has an agreement in principle for PSV Eindhoven’s Marcel Brands to come aboardas sporting director, and he now wants to tap into Raiola’s expertise as one of football’s top deal-makers.

The shake-up is set to bring the departure of manager Sam Allardyce, even though he will have 12 months left on the £6million-a-year contract he signed when replacing the sacked Ronald Koeman in November.

Director of football Steve Walsh will also leave."

Written down those comments are worrying but in context they're encouraging.

Asked on the pitch in title celebrations. Says planning is going on for next season and it would be hard to leave this great club but there is interest. If it wasn't on then that was the perfect time for him to shut it down.

He's coming. Negotiations are either done or close to being done and we're all just waiting for the appropriate time to go public. He'll probably be more than tripling his wages here if not more.

The last part is a worry for me because if his only motivation for coming here is money then we should look elsewhere there are too many mercenaries here already.

Everyone in modern football is a mercenary, anyone who claims to be otherwise is simply not good enough to make the step up.
