The 'massive wages' claim doesn't stand a rigorous testing of the claim. Maybe 4 fit the bill. And forget who brought them here, it's his job to shift them out for something in return. Or did he say in his job interview that he can only shift the easily saleable and he'd have to give the rest away?

Sandro 120k
Bolasie 80k
Niasse 50k
Schneiderlin 100k
Mirallas 70k
McCarthy 50k
Walcott 80k (at least)
Martina 40k

How do you expect Brands to sell them, in all honesty. If nobody wants them how can you sell them? I’m sure the club have offered them to everyone, but if you are an average player on 100k a week are you really gonna be pushing for a move away? If these players are to go it’s gonna be on deadline day for absolute pennies with Everton paying half their wages.

Laughing at this: you nicely avoid dealing with the elephant in your particular drawing room: your former hero Besic on about £25K pw (not a bad player in all honesty), we paid buttons for him relatively speaking: how on earth is Mr Photo-op failing to get shut of him for two summers running?

I said not to use people still at the club, cos its very easy to vault you in a few weeks when hes sold.

Besic was sold last summer, but his agent got greedy, he will be sold this summer.

As I said, use an example of where you think brands got it wrong and show how you would have done better.

He is a dreamboat tho isnt he.

Adding to this, the buying clubs will leave it to deadline day. They know we are desperate to get rid and will likely get a great deal out of us just to get them off the wage bill.

His suit and trabs game is something to be admired.

Cant get my head round that.

So take Morgs. circa £6m a year wages, 2 years left. (Might be more or less, dont know)

So we pay Southampton £12m, and they pay us £3m? So we pay £9m to get him off the books?

Not sure how that all works out re accounts and that stuff.

Not a dig, honestly not sure if that actually ever happens.
He's on £5M per year salary and he has two years left on his contract. His fee wont be £24M anymore but we could expect an interested club to value him (in these inflationary times) at say £15M...absolutely nothing in today's prices. Get him off to an interested club and take the hit on a much reduced fee than that and hand the savings on wages to Silva. Do that enough times and he'll have a couple of players to bring in.

I mean, the burden of explanation should not be on me here, it should be on you. What exactly are you proposing: that we accept a situation where a DoF simply sits back and allows a situation where players are taking 2/3 more seasons worth of wages and he cant do a thing about it? Not just one player, but a whole raft of them?

Personally I dont think we'll see that. I can see an absolute fire sale here early August when these chancers are pitchforked out; my point is that it should have been initiated already.

What a nightmare Everton have had in transfer dealings the past few years. Yikes.

Im not sure which part is the funniest, the fact that you think we would get 15m or the fact that you think theres a club out there that would pay him 5m a year.

But again, another bad example, ive yet to see anything to suggest that Silva or Brands want to sell Morgan.

Onyekuru, Tarashaj, Besic, Garbutt...the average falls below £50K. If that's a problem for Everton they realy shouldn't be in business as a club that seeks to be back as best of the rest, never mind a Euro contender.

So we must be at a poit now (in your logic) whereby we cant hand players £80k pw because Brands wont be able to shift them if it all goes pear shaped.

As long as he doesnt sign 20 of them its not a problem.

But considering hes made 7 signings, who have all been top, top drawer, I fancy his chances.

Ok, so buying club then makes a commitment of £25m. Fee plus wages. I have never ever heard of a transfer where a player takes the same wages for the same length of time as his old contract. Why would they? The club that is.

Because otherwise, after 2 years, buying club has a worthless asset. So they are buying the exact same problem we have now. Unless I have missed sommet.
