2019/20 Marcel Brands

Sandro
Bolasie
Niasse
Mirallas

They're good enough for most teams, not elite teams or Leicester or Everton, but most.

...certainly good enough, but they are on salaries that far exceed their capability. It’s not their fault. Clubs might be prepared to take them, but if you’re Bolasie or Sandro on mega-contracts with years to run you’d be a bit daft to take a hit of millions just to get game time elsewhere.

I think you called it Koemanism. We’re suffering Walshism/Koemanism with many of these players and a dose of Brands might not be enough to cure the problem.

Niasse and Mirallas are a bit different, both have 12 months on their contracts. A team might want Niasse, but I think he’ll dig his heels in for a loan. If I was him, that’s what i’d do. He’ll go on loan and make a few bob on a Bosman next summer.

Nobody will match Mirallas’ salary, he won’t move without a pay off or he’ll go on loan as per Ashley Williams.

Remember that time Our Marcel had a clause in Bolaises loan deal that he could cancel it half way through!

Good times!

Great to see Villa sign every other player they had loan by lashing out over 100 mill.

Teams that won’t pay the wages that they’re currently on, because they’re gash

Next
It’s not just about their ability though. It’s about their contract, the fee and mainly about them. Are any of them willing to take a pay cut at their ages (Sandro’s age excluded) when they have a big cushy contract here? I doubt it.

What teams would take a 30 odd year old Mirallas and Bolasie and a Niasse who is getting there? Pretty crap Turkish/Belgian/Russian teams would be my guess and they couldn’t afford to bankroll that at all.

End of the day we’re likely stuck with them until their contract expires and that’s just the way it is as they’re a remnant left from a previous regime which isn’t an uncommon thing in football clubs.

Sandro has gone,as for the rest, not seen any strong rumours to suggest that any of them or the rest of our deadwood have interested other clubs.

^^^ Put through the condenser = "I dont expect my hero Brands to sell them, it's not fair to expect him to; he bought us Digne and Bernard and Gomez so stop being awkward".

None of those players will be Everton players come August 9th.
I agree. My frustration is this: do it now while the cash can be used.

Moshiri and his boardoom colleague Brands are looking to squeeze out another million or so here and there because they cant / wont properly fund Silva.

Blah blah blah. Not funding Silva? Don't talk such nonsense.

Let’s use Kevin Mirallas has exhibit A

30 year old, £70k a week salary approaching the last year of his contract.

Team A spend needs to pay Everton money and convince good old Kev to take a considerable wage drop.

Or

Good old Kev sees out his last year, knowing full well he won’t get £70k next year but has a free agent will likely get a nice little welcome bonus

We cant force other teams to buy our players when we want.

Silva will get the players he needs.

Why didn't this happen to the "rubbish and unsellable" Tom Cleverley? One year on his contract, on a decent weekly wage of 55K pw...we got £8M for him.
