I said not to use people still at the club, cos its very easy to vault you in a few weeks when hes sold.

Besic was sold last summer, but his agent got greedy, he will be sold this summer.

As I said, use an example of where you think brands got it wrong and show how you would have done better.

He is a dreamboat tho isnt he.

Dave would sell Mina for £15 million now...that’s how a proper DOF operates.

Heehee

Ha Ha Ha.

Im not sure which part is the funniest, the fact that you think we would get 15m or the fact that you think theres a club out there that would pay him 5m a year.

But again, another bad example, ive yet to see anything to suggest that Silva or Brands want to sell Morgan.
You need to address this bit:

"...the burden of explanation should not be on me here, it should be on you. What exactly are you proposing: that we accept a situation where a DoF simply sits back and allows a situation where players are taking 2/3 more seasons worth of wages and he cant do a thing about it? Not just one player, but a whole raft of them?"

As long as he doesnt sign 20 of them its not a problem.

But considering hes made 7 signings, who have all been top, top drawer, I fancy his chances.
I wouldn't fancy his chances getting some mug club to pay a kings ransom in wages for Mina the Duffer...who HE brought in.

Ok, so buying club then makes a commitment of £25m. Fee plus wages. I have never ever heard of a transfer where a player takes the same wages for the same length of time as his old contract. Why would they? The club that is.

Because otherwise, after 2 years, buying club has a worthless asset. So they are buying the exact same problem we have now. Unless I have missed sommet.
3 year contract costing them £15M. We could hand him to them on a free and still win by using the wages saved to hand to another player we could bring in for a low fee or on a free. For one or two I;d defo do that rather than hang about waiting for a fee.

Bottom line is Brands needs to do something creative to get shut of them.

As stated: I dont accept that we have a DoF employed to oversee a handful of chancers sit out their contracts while he sits with his thumbs up his arse.

Any kids on here wanna come over to mine and I'll show you some blammos. Preferably teens.

Yes, we need to accept that some players will be here till their contracts expire.

Anyway, im not doing this for 3 weeks, will hola at you when its Statue time.

The main problem is finding a club who wants them, regardless of what deal we try and do. The players we are trying to shift are rubbish and nobody wants them. Even if we find a club stupid enough to take them, the player might just want to sit out his contract.

Sandro
Bolasie
Niasse
Mirallas

They're good enough for most teams, not elite teams or Leicester or Everton, but most.

It’s not just about their ability though. It’s about their contract, the fee and mainly about them. Are any of them willing to take a pay cut at their ages (Sandro’s age excluded) when they have a big cushy contract here? I doubt it.

What teams would take a 30 odd year old Mirallas and Bolasie and a Niasse who is getting there? Pretty crap Turkish/Belgian/Russian teams would be my guess and they couldn’t afford to bankroll that at all.

End of the day we’re likely stuck with them until their contract expires and that’s just the way it is as they’re a remnant left from a previous regime which isn’t an uncommon thing in football clubs.
