Please state stats that show Silva is anything like the equal of Fat Sam instead of laughing.

In the words of the fat waiter `show me the facts'.

Incredible how people don't look at facts and rational - just rely on gut reaction and prejudice.

The best measures of a managers ability is whether he outperforms the wage bill/transfer budget of his club.

Allardyce has consistently shown himself a very good manager over many years.

He had a far better managerial record than Silva before he came to Everton and had a better one at everton.

Allaydyce's record at Everton was better than Silvas is despite coming in when the club were in turmoil plus Silva had massive backing the last 2 summers.

It really does blow the mind that people think Silva has a better managerial record than Fat Sam.

You realise Allardyce is a specialist in one mode of football and should have been absolutely nowhere near this great club, that we still have to talk about the man in the same breath makes me sick
Allaydyce worked miracles at Bolton, and did good jibs just about everywhere else. He got the England managers job.
He never got the wage bill/transfer budget he deserved to have a go at and how he was treated for doing a good job here was an utter disgrace.

Meanwhile you are quite happy to have a portuguese manager of just about zero note and nil personality representing this club.

You are laughing at yourselves.

You were 100% convinced Fat Sam should go and Silva would come in and do a better job.

You couldnt have got something more wrong if you tried.

I hope you can see some irony in your laughter mate,

15 years ago he done that at Bolton, he’s never got a team anywhere near since, a good job would have been doing something different, playing a better way and getting us into Europe but he chose not to, we slept walked to that 8th spot and barely deserved it

Not got the budget? He and Walsh spent a combined near £50m on Tosun and Walcott, I dread to think who they would have wasted money on over last summer

Where did I say I was happy with Silva? I’m not, I think he’s on very borrowed time considering he’s lost more games in his first half century than two of his predecessors

Commercial marketability - I’d define this as players who improve our profile across world markets. We’re far better off having Brazil’s number 9 playing for us than Sandro Ramirez for example. Same with Yerry Mina rather than the likes of Williams etc.

Resale value of squad - it’s not really in theory, we could sell Richarlison for double the value we bought, Digne for triple, Bernard would be pure profit. Consider the squad Brands inherited and Gueye and Lookman were literally the only profit making assets.

Size of squad - it’s not his fault if players don’t want to move, or there’s no takers at their preferred salary/clubs preferred price. He’s nevertheless reduced it from the methods available to him.

I agree with you that he should have given Silva another striker and another centreback. Long term though I think he’s on the right track.

Silva has his own problems though that he needs to solve with what he has available in the squad.
Commercial value is all a bit woolly though. We've had Eto'o and Rooney x2. What good did it do us?

Resale value: yeah, some players will add value; some will be sold for a loss. Mina is never going for that fee again Brands paid for him; Delph isn't fetching £8M again either. Swings and roundabouts.

Size of squad being reduced is just a moot point; easy thing to achieve.

Brands is given way too much latitide on what he inherited; he's added to the problem all told IMO.

If you think that we would get 100 mill for Richarlison then you’re in cuckoo land. And noones paying 75 mill for digne

Will only really judge Brands once he has chosen a manager.

Not a chance did he pick Silva. He has agreed to work with him, but Moshiri chose Marco.

The next manager is crucial. The club simply cannot choose poorly again.

We said this after Martinez, Koeman, Allardyce. Now Silva.

We are a laughing stock

We paid about 35 mill for Richarlison, could we get 70 for him, yes. We paid about 16 for Digne, he’d go for triple that easily.
The Richarlison one is sketchy because we don’t know the add ons. Digne went for 20 I think? Anyhow, we may get 40 for him, no more. Because I honestly don’t think a top club would buy him, he’s not good enough defensively. Your original point of resale value however is well founded

All prices were taken from there, the question is, has Brands improved the squad with the 87m spent over 3 windows?

Im fairly confident we would get at least our money back on most if we sold them tomorrow. I realise theres holes in the team/squad, but as I keep saying it was never going to be fixed in 1 window. I think we have bought some very good players personally, Gmballo and Kean have yet to make a mark, but im very hopeful they will. But we havent spent a fortune, ok, its still almost 200m in players, but 87m over 3 windows isnt a vast sum, considering Harry Maguire alone cost that.

Anyway, I hadnt really gone over the numbers for a while, just wanted to have a ROUGH look.
