All prices were taken from there, the question is, has Brands improved the squad with the 87m spent over 3 windows?

Im fairly confident we would get at least our money back on most if we sold them tomorrow. I realise theres holes in the team/squad, but as I keep saying it was never going to be fixed in 1 window. I think we have bought some very good players personally, Gmballo and Kean have yet to make a mark, but im very hopeful they will. But we havent spent a fortune, ok, its still almost 200m in players, but 87m over 3 windows isnt a vast sum, considering Harry Maguire alone cost that.

Anyway, I hadnt really gone over the numbers for a while, just wanted to have a ROUGH look.

Great business to turn water into wine in the positions focused on so far.

We need to spend at least the same again to push on though.

When you look at his signings, hit or miss, I like them, I like what his going for..
People have spend 60+mill on keane and sigurdsson, unbelieveble, i'm watching the figure and names, 60+mill on keane and sigurdsson...

We have made mistakes this summer such as no proper striker as kean is very young to be ready. He should have been an additional signing on top of another striker.

No CB is a joke and will be criminal if we lose a CB to an injury

Selling gueye was naive dont care if he wanted to leave. Would the rs sell mane so cheap because he wanted to leave.

Allaydyce worked miracles at Bolton, and did good jibs just about everywhere else. He got the England managers job.
He never got the wage bill/transfer budget he deserved to have a go at and how he was treated for doing a good job here was an utter disgrace.

Meanwhile you are quite happy to have a portuguese manager of just about zero note and nil personality representing this club.
that bit is certainly correct.

Why do we never improve, just seems we spend money to keep standing still pr going backwards. We just don't make the right decisions off the field to markedly improve on the pitch

It's not terrible, It's being used in a poor way, This is a very talented team with good players.

Injuries have played a part too. Gomes and Gbamin were both summer signings and are both unfortuantely injured at the same time.. and of all the 5 players for the CM spot Gomes is the best so it's not really surprising the team has struggled without them.

We have a good team when everyone is fit. Gomes and Gbamin are surely missed in the midfield. Going back to the summer for me brands had to get a ready made striker in. We saw all last season we had a toothless attack at times. Yes it is hard to get good strikers in but we needed it. I think brands has done a good job getting good players in and deadwood out for decent fees. I think he will be good for us long term. I just hope tho that we sign a striker in January, which is hard in the middle of the season. We went for zaha for most the summer, and I personally think he would off made the difference. This is my opinion and some won’t agree that’s fine. Front 4 of zaha, iwobi, Richarlison and either kean or Calvert-Lewin would of been decent. If we couldn’t of sound a ready made striker.

One thing that is glaringly obvious, is that even though he reportedly doesn`t like the January transfer window, he hasn`t got a choice this time.

Even if it`s only loan signings, we need a centre half and an experienced striker to support Kean, even if its an arl arse.

I keep hearing about our centre back situation being a mess, but we do have two centre backs playing on the team and with one on the bench. Are our centre backs good enough is a different argument I think.
Man City have one fit centre back... I can only imagine what would be said if we were in that situation.
As far as I know Gbamin is rated higher as a centre back than as a midfielder and hopefully he will be back in about four weeks, that would give us four players who could play in that position.

Regarding Moise Kean, I think playing him wide as he settles into the club and the league is sensible and he looks more effective there at the moment than what I have seen of him as a centre forward. I think we may see a lot of his goals being scored as he comes in from wide positions. I thought he looked very lively against City and far more comfortable than he did the previous week.

I think Iwobi looks decent already, Richarlison we already know about and in a different formation I think Tom Davies could do well.

I think there is a lot of potential already in the squad, the manager needs to find a way to harness it to the best effect.
