Ask yourself how many of our team would get in the starting 11 of any top six side.

Richarlison and Digne are the only two at present, which is pretty mediocre considering thats the level we're shooting for.

Doesn't mean they can't improve, but Brands hasn't done the sterling job most profess he has.

Calling Bernard bang average voids this post.

Yeah, he is a Brazil international after all.

Yeah, he is a Brazil international after all.

but we are not a top 6 side so why would we have a squad full of top 6 players??????

we have a top 7/8 squad, we are about 15th

also gomes would get in most teams

Most would get 3 of the Current top 6

With the investment made, we should have more players capable of making that step up. We don't. That's on Brands.

If you look at Leicester, who many were comparing us with at the start of the season, you're talking Chilwell, Soyuncu, Evans, Perreira, Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison, Vardy and possibly Barnes.

We have two at best. Don't let the injury cloud your judgement, I hope Gomes recovers as quickly as anyone, but he's never a top six player. Nor is Bernard or Mina. Neither would make the bench at any top six club.

We have two at best - and that's based on Richarlisons future projected growth, not on current form. Don't let the injury cloud your judgement, I hope Gomes recovers as quickly as anyone, but he's never a top six player. Nor is Bernard or Mina. Neither would make the bench at any top six club.

but its' not on brands at all though is

because of the players in our squad who would be in or around the top 6 ( /digne/mina/gomes/ richarlison ) all 4 of them where signed by brands

gomes isn't a top 6 player? ok mate

he goes straight into the spurs united and arsenal midfield
mina is better than some of the cbs Liverpool, city, united and arsenal play ( would be arsenals best CB by a country mile )

also your point re Leicester is again daft

half of them leciester players have been at Leicester for years so they have built a squad over the years, not built a whole new squad in 18 months

Ok mate, fair enough. We'll have to agree to disagree there.

Gomes is barely a starter for us, let alone elsewhere. Check his thread pre-injury, he's been atrocious for a while. Mina is a beast and he's great athletically but he's not a top CB mate, he's just not. Same as Zouma. He's reckless and a liability too often to make it at the top level.

Nope, that's not true. Chilwell, Barnes, Evans, Perreira, Soyuncu, Tielemans and Maddison (all bar Vardy) all made their debuts for Leicester inside the last 2 years.

When's the last time we finished 6th? We're not a Top 6 team.

gomes is barely a starter for us? mate what planet are you on he's one of the first names on the teamsheet when he's fit, and mina is a very good CB, my point is united arsenal Liverpool and city all lack very good CB's ( he's a better CB than otamendi and fernaninho for city ) ( hes a better cb than lovren at Liverpool ) hes better than anyone at arsenal and I personally think he is better than Maguire who is a donkey

chillwell played games in their league winning season so that's wrong
Barnes might have made his debut in the last 2 years but he's been at leciester since he was abar 10
ndidi been there since the league winning season ( or season after )
vardy been there for years

Leicester haven't got a far better team than us, they have a far better manager and an amazing experienced striker who has scored goals for years

After the money we've spent, you don't think the target for Silva was to challenge the top six?

As such, we were signing players capable of making that step up. By and large, we haven't.

That's on Brands.

the money we've spent?

mate brands has been here 2 years and our "net" spend in them 2 years is just average why are you making out we have done a man city/Chelsea and bought everyone

as well as the top 6, wolves brighton an and aston villa have spent more than us over the past 2 season, west ham and Bournemouth have spent around the same

people are over egging how much we have actually spent just because we overpaid massively for average players in the walsh era

my problem with brands is, he does good business but he doesn't busy enough

last season he done good business but didn't get us a striker which cost us 7th and Europe]

this season he was slow to replace gueye, didn't replace zouma and left zaha/doucoure until deadline day

West Ham haven't finished in the top half for the last three years - 10th, 13th, 11th respectively. Their fans did not realistically expect to challenge the top six.

We've finished 8th, 8th (3 & 5 points off Europe respectively) and 7th in the last 3 years. In those 3 years, we've outspent most clubs in world Football - £200m net spend.

In those 3 years, we've spent more than 2.5 times what Leicester spent across the same period, more than most teams in the league. It's fair to say that, given that investment, we should be a lot closer to the top six than we are right now.

That's not all Silva's fault, is it mate?
