Carlo Ancelotti’s in-tray: overtake Manchester United and make signings count
The Everton manager’s to-do list also includes winning the club’s first trophy since 1995 and sorting the chain of commandwww.theguardian.com
Fair, but I don't know what him being Dutch has to do with it.As good an appointment Ancelotti is, there's now no point in Brands.
He's a waste of resources.
He had no input on hiring the manager as we were led to believe he would have. His signings are generally poor and a manager of the calibre of Carlo isn't going to want to listen to some two bit Dutch Middle man when it comes to players he wants.
Might as well get rid.

I didn't read anything in that which made me think Brands had identified Ancelotti and was the prime mover in bringing him to Everton. That's because he wasn't.But I thought Brands wasn't involved in bringing him to the club? @davek
Ancelotti would identify a type of player and may even pass a name...
Brands then goes over the analysis with the scouting team and gives a list of players to the manager which they discuss and put into order.
Brands then goes after the targets in order of priority.
I really doubt Ancelotti wants to be negotiating new signings and contracts, chief scout, and leading our youth set up.
The idea Brands cant work with Ancelotti is a complete load of rubbish.

Fair.
Tosun, Iwobi, Delph, Walcott, Mina, Sandro, Klaasen etc. None of them have had the impact we wanted and some have been downright awful.

How do you know that this is the process, mate? Just curious....
That article does say that Brands did a powerpoint for Mr Ancelotti to be fair.I didn't read anything in that which made me think Brands had identified Ancelotti and was the prime mover in bringing him to Everton. That's because he wasn't.
Brands is now reacting to events, not shaping them.
He's now, to all intents and purposes, useless.
