Yeah, but not that he was identified by Brands and head hunted by him. That was all down to Moshiri.

He became available. He wasnt head hunted by anyone.

He was contacted, or his agent was, gave us the time of day, and liked what he saw/the package.

The only unanswerable is exactly Who convinced him. I have my theory, but thats all it is. I very much doubt that a powerpoint presentation was key. More a reassurance after the big picture outline by Moshiri, or someone else.

But hey, he is here on a long term deal. Happy Christmas Carlo.

Kenwright states it was initiated and driven by Moshiri.

I’m amazed at the amount of people who think a director of football will ever have veto power over an owner. He also said essentially that Silva identified his prospects and they moved forward on ones they can agree on. Seems a lot of people don’t understand what his role is

do you believe that marcel brands would have sat there whilst ancelotti was at Napoli and thought ‘let’s prise him away’

no. He became available. His name probably cropped up in a board meeting and everyone INCLUDING brands probably went ‘it would be nice to get him if we could!’ And then moshiri lashed a load of money at Carlo.

in the meantime brands now has a manager who doesn’t need babysitting and he can concentrate on developing the playing staff

Have him override the owner? If people think that they are woefully mistaken. But the DoF is meant to oversee the vision if the owner. And, if the DoF is finding himself constantly overridden by the owner, than perhaps that may indicate they have the wrong DoF?

Mosh wanted a statement and got a statement. I see nothing indicating Brands was against Carlo. Think it’s being blown out of proportion after being reported he wanted to keep Silva - which is mind boggling that he really believed that was a good idea

Brands will simply buy who Carlo tells him to.

Ok he may identify a couple of kids or South Americans for the U 23's but that will be it.

You don't employ Carlo and not defer to him on EVERYTHING!
