The Premier league tracks it. I think it's a dumb stat, but there is it. He's been up there the last couple years, but not this year, yet.

However, I care more about a Goalkeeper saving the ball, especially when they are one of the highest paid keeper in the league and probably in Europe.

Well what's his save % rank him as then? Up the top?

Missing a save and dropping balls/failing clearances lead to the same thing.

His save % is 69% which is 13th, which is the highest % in his Everton career. Last year I believe it was the 2nd worst in the league last year - thanks, Kepa!

Most clubs and analysts with a brain would use xG compared to GA, where he's 19th out of 20 for qualified keepers p90 and 28th out of 29th in total.

There's not an objective measure I've seen that indicates he's anything but about the worst in the entire league. But your eyes would tell you that as well unless you were really biased.

And look, I agree the mistakes stat is dumb, but if someone was dumb enough to quote it, at least quote it accurately.

I never said the mistake stat is dumb. I said he's crap and all the stats you want to look at tell you that he's crap.

You said this: "Jordan Pickford doesn't make any more mistakes than any other keeper, he's just bad at saving a ball."

And it's wrong both subjectively and factually.

Its correct this year. I was discussing his current performance. So I was correct.

Oh look, here's some facts...

Marcel Brands:

Heavens sake Dave, forget is it is Brands or Carlo the sheer fact is we should not move unless the right players are available no matter what window we are in. Do not want to spend on crap just to fill squad places like say Delph for example.

£100k pw for Bernard.

Lol.

That's quite besides the fact he's spent out routinely £20M-£30M in fees on bang average-to-rubbish players like Iwobi, Kean, Gomes; and his failure to shift players out other than to practically give them away for a pittance.

Brands has NOT been value for money. Not one bit of it.

Well that's just simply not true. He leads the league for individual mistakes leading to goals by a keeper. Possibly only behind that donkey Kepa.

Mina makes Magueye Gueye look like Usain bolt.

He's good in the air and that is about it for him.

I think Keane is a better passer than Mina tbh.

Mina has made about 3 mistakes that cost us during that poor run of form. I can't think of any Keane has had this season.

I believe it was Michael Keane who gave the interview about how Mina is the fastest of the centre halfs. Keane made 2 mistakes in the first 5 minutes last match. Against Burnley Keane was directly responsible for not closing down Brady on the goal and lost Chris Wood on Burnley's only other chance. But since it wasn't Mina others didn't notice it. Keane did the same thing that Mina did against Liverpool a couple matches ago, but again, no one said anything because it didn't fall to Mo Salah for a world class finish.

Its absolutely beyond me how posters cant see that when on form Mina is a far better player than Keane. Its not even a contest.

Mina does tend to pick up more injuries and seems ungainly so perhaps thats why?

Also, Ancelottis first choice was initially Mina + Holgate until the injuries and then Keane and Branthwaite came in...

...Keane has done very well but hes never going to be anything more than what he is, a reactionary defender in a deep defence. Very much an Italian defender though...without any snide lol

The extension he signed was something bizarre to me and i hope its so we get a good fee for him.

If Tarkowski at Burnley was subject of a £31mil offer from West Ham then I think we would get at least that for Keane or Mina...

I actually think that if we get favourable draws in the FA Cup (or he has a successful loan) then Branthwaite will push out Keane sometime next season.

With Mina's injuries id even look to move both of them on and sign a truly top class centre back in the summer. Unless Mina can keep this form going over the rest of the season and steer clear of injuries.
