Just out of pure curiosity Dave, and without spouting your usual gash. How do you get rid of someone like Yannick Bolasie, who looks like again as ruled out a move??

Let’s here your experience of being in such a situation and how you dealt with it
Well, you answered your own question there with this other post to me...
He was lucky to get anything for that cart horse

Another present from the Spanish charlatan
...so what's his excuse for not getting anything (or hardly anything) in for the likes Schneiderlin, Bolasie, Besic etc?

I told you yanks see football as the Matrix.

Us: Do you always look at it encoded?

Yanks: Well you have to. The image translators work for the construct program. But there’s way too much information to decode the Matrix. You get used to it. I…I don’t even see the code. All I see is Siggy, Iwobi, and Mina winning us the game. Hey, you uh… want a drink?

Probably because Villarreal wanted him and he wanted to play; but they weren’t prepared to pay over the top for him.

So, we have 2 situations which you can blame Brands for:
1) player doesn’t want to go because he’s a nice fat wedge
2) player wants to go, but buying club isn’t prepared to pay a price that you deem acceptable

I think a lot of people want us to be the enw Dortmund or Leipzig, and are around scouting etc so advocate it. I'm not sure you can just become something you're not.

In fairness you stated that you'd have a bulked up CEO role to oversee the football side of the operation. Which could also work. Someone like David Gill, managing Moshiri above, ANcelotti below and Kenwright sideways may work more effectively.
...again, that would come up against the structural forces of a Jesus Gil type of club owner who hordes power.

However, Moshiri must realise his mistake and might go for a beefed up club secretary role. The club are no strangers to that type of position.

There's always an excuse for Brands isn't there?

Instead of doing the NASA calculus maybe you should just take the quicker route of applying Occam's Razor: he's 'kin clueless.

Mina makes Magueye Gueye look like Usain bolt.

He's good in the air and that is about it for him.

I think Keane is a better passer than Mina tbh.

Mina has made about 3 mistakes that cost us during that poor run of form. I can't think of any Keane has had this season.
I believe it was Michael Keane who gave the interview about how Mina is the fastest of the centre halfs. Keane made 2 mistakes in the first 5 minutes last match. Against Burnley Keane was directly responsible for not closing down Brady on the goal and lost Chris Wood on Burnley's only other chance. But since it wasn't Mina others didn't notice it. Keane did the same thing that Mina did against Liverpool a couple matches ago, but again, no one said anything because it didn't fall to Mo Salah for a world class finish.

"Pickford doesn't make more mistakes than other keepers."

He doesn't, every keep makes blunders, but he just doesn't save the ball in general as well as other keepers. Anyone can see that, but the numbers indicate it objectively. He's just not very good and he's on 100K a week and impossible to move. Yet some complain about Bernard making the same thing on a free who Brands already had offers for this summer only for Carlo to insist that he stay.

No mate. There is an actual stat "mistakes leading to goals" and he is right up there.

Well that's just simply not true. He leads the league for individual mistakes leading to goals by a keeper. Possibly only behind that donkey Kepa.
You know you can just look this stuff up, right?

I love this "Well that's simply not true..."

Uh, yeah it is.

Kepa has 3, Ramsdale has 2, Pickford has 1 along with 8 other Goalkeepers, making him average. It's the measures of stopping shots where's deplorable and has been for 2 consecutive years.

But again, no reasonable Sporting Director would pay £26M for a player like him. Yet people think Iwobi/Kean were bad guys. Wow.

The Premier league tracks it. I think it's a dumb stat, but there is it. He's been up there the last couple years, but not this year, yet.

However, I care more about a Goalkeeper saving the ball, especially when they are one of the highest paid keeper in the league and probably in Europe.
