You have to take what Joyce says with a massive pinch of salt as the bloke has pretty much slated us/the board since he was no longer given exclusives.

Also I would pretty much ignore Brands as well - anyone who spends £27+ million on Alex Iwobi should not be deciding who this clubs manager is.

King is the same - basically any Kopite journo who loves Benitez will be trying to cause a rift between the EFC fans and Usmanov/Moshiri.

Make no mistake this is also about BMD - they hate us getting that ground so what better way to stop it than try get Everton fans to run the owners out of town and to go back to "Blue Blood Bill who 'gets' the fans".

It's perhaps the biggest criticism you can aim at Brands to say he's so passive he has no influence.

He'd have not renewed his deal if that was the case.

Maybe he gets input on who we sign and what manager we get and has clearly a bigger role in the academy now, but very few of those decisions seem to go back to him ultimately especially with the coach and the coach sets the tone on much of this stuff. Silva was signed prior to his arrival Carlo was clearly led by Mosh and so is RB... Too many people want an influence that's our problem. I don't believe the idea that Brands is a great dof his record is mixed, but then I think it's hard to tell because the way we are run is so dysfunctional with competing ideas and decisions. It's a mess.

As to why its wrong, we can only guess of course but I think Moshiri is too involved and Brands is too passive.
