No I’m sorry I don’t agree. And there are plenty of ‘if’s’ in your statements about Moshiri. The blokes an amateur meddler - end of.

Player recruitment was massively superior under Kenwright - if that meant he wasn’t interfering so be it. But more has been spent with less results under the new owner.

Down to Moyes that though recruitment had nothing to do with Kenwright same way money pished up the wall under Moshiri is ultimately down to Walsh/Brands.

...absolutely, which leads me to believe this is little to do with football.
The longevity of the negotiation, the obvious media briefs, the select figures trying to drum up support among the fanbase all point towards you being spot on I’d say

Besides Doucouré & Godfrey had Brands made any other good signings? I can't think of one outside of those two.

Digne, Nkounkou & Branthwaite ?

Can't give him credit for Richarlison as that one was down to Silva.

On the opposite side we've got Iwobi & Delph , 2 unbelievably bad signings.

I'm genuinely really intrigued to know how he feels about this Benitez situation. Benitez has a bit of a history of getting stroppy over transfers at every club he's been at.. so how is that going to work with Brands??

Digne:

7 Assists - 2020/21
5 Assists - 2019/20
4 Assists - 2018/19

765 crosses & 4097 passes for just 16 assists. This simply isn't good enough. You could argue we threw away these seasons by over relying on him when he wasn't delivering.

Considering how much the team has been built around him & our plan A is to always play it down the left flank & cross it in we inherently become predictable.
When Digne got injured we ended up having our best form of the season, beating Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal & Sheffield United in a row. Then in our other best performances of the season Digne had very little impact. You can give him credit for some matches like his 2 assists vs Fulham, but he only registered 1 assist in his last 18 appearances.

We haven't seen enough from Nkounkou or Branthwaite to adequately assess whether or not if they were good signings. At best they're prospects who haven't gotten any minutes.

Sooo... you're saying Lucas Digne was a bad signing?? o_O

No but I think he has been somewhat detrimental to the team & I know how harsh that might sound but it's true.
27 free kick attempts & hasn't scored since 2019, takes most of our set pieces barring of course penalties. 765 crosses - 16 assists = 749 crosses in 3 years.

In my opinion there's a reason why he has only started 2 out of 8 matches for France recently & why we had an improvement in form when he went out of the team.
He's a little too selfish for my taste & I'm convinced if Godfrey would've stayed at LB we would be in Europe next season.

On the flip side you could argue that we over rely on him because he's that good....
If you put a perfect ball in and the strikers fluff it can you be blamed for it?
Not saying he's faultless but can't be blamed for everything

We finished 10th & 12th mate, it's not like he has been incredible. France don't play him for a reason & we played better without him. I don't recall his chances being consistently wasted unlike Siggy or James's, players who put it on a silver platter for our strikers to miss. Generally when Digne puts in a good cross he ends up getting an assist, or at least based on all of the footage I've analysed over the past 3 years.

He's still been one of our better players....
He's that important to us that teams double up on our left back and prioritise stopping him...
Digne and hamez are our most effective attacking threat...
Stop them and we struggle drastically

He's no Sigurdsson, that's for sure!
