After three years of fairly irrefutable evidence, it has become clear that he is just an extension of Steve Walsh rather than an antidote. He obviously has no exceptional talent for spotting talent. Take Doucoure for example, a suggestion by a previous manager who was nearly a whole season removed from his position by the time we eventually signed the player he asked for.

I would like to think that any DoF who had any confidence in his own ability would have moved on to another target once it was clear that the manager who initially suggested it was useless and had to be removed. But no, Brands can't fashion any viable alternatives so he signs Doucoure alongside another box to box midfielder suggested by a completely different manager.

Just laughably appalling planning.

At the end of this window lets see how much was spent. Then we can compare who comes in with those whose names some of us are putting forward.

Then next summer we can see if Brands is superior to the average fan.

Steve Walsh brought in Lookman, Gueye and DCL.

It was Koemageddon who brought the expensive rubbish in.

Walsh was so infinitley better at spotting a player than Brands it's laughable.

There's nothing wrong per se with having 2 box to box midfielders. Rice and Phillips did a decent job for England, you just need a good understanding between the two of who breaks forward and who covers.

…again being selective in your assessment. Personally, I think the DoF should be accountable for all signings under his tenure but if you’re assuming Walsh brought those 3 players in you are not correct.

Its on record that Unsworth was the one who identified DCL and then went to the Board to recommend we bought him. Walsh was pictured sitting in the stands watching Sandro before we bought him, the suggestion he was a good ‘scout’ is extremely debatable.
