Think if your looking to criticise him further then the Academy output has to be questioned

Can think of only Gordon who has come though during his tenure.

absolutely. Despite 4 out of 5 of his buys stinking the place out, his main role over the next 3 weeks will be to undermine the choices Benitez wants to bring in. It's utterly farcical

….I’m not defending Brands, far from it but I think we need to back up these claims when making them. I also note your response is to @davek who is consistently wrong, partisan and submitting misinformation to support his views.

The club has a host of expensive misfits it can’t move on because they have failed to perform. They are millstones around the clubs neck. All managers and DoFs under the Moshiri regime are culpable, some more than others. So who are the expensive failures we can’t shift and who brought them in?

Who are the 4 out of 5 Brands has brought in who are stinking out the place (Iwobi and Delph are a given)? What makes you think Brands is undermining Benitez, I get the impression Benitez is bringing in who he wants?

well he's brought in what 12 players. How many good ones, two? The rest will be the devil to shift, all on big wages, the wrong age, you name it.

That's a sound business model only IF, you have the correct calibre of players coming through, like Chelsea perhaps. If you haven't then it's a death sentence for your club.
Johnjoe Kenny for example is cited by Brands does anyone se think hes good enough ?

…as I say, I’m not particularly defending the fella but I think we need to be reasoned in this argument. I’m not sure of the exact numbers or personnel he brought in:

Richarlison
Gomes
Mina
Digne
Delph
Iwobi
Nkounkou
Branthwaite
Godfrey
Bernard
Allan
Kean

….off the top of my head for starters. Those aren’t great, and you have to question the rewarding of a new deal but probably realise a profit or monies back on 6.

Culpability all around, I’d question the process as well as all the individuals involved in this mess.

Richarlison was Marco. Other than that, I see two good buys. The rest will be the devil to shift.

Anything so he can work less hours

What's the point of having him if the majority of the budget is given to a manager to waste on his favourites before inevitably being sacked soon after. No words for how poorly ran we are I'm so so tired of this nonsense.

I mean, the resale value on that list minus Richi cos that wasn't Marcel and the two good buys is just draw dropping. I don't think we will get more than £5-10m in total for that shower. And our outlay for them runs to hundreds of millions. Delph alone, £25m. Gomes £50m. Just awful.

…and that’s where it gets complex. We make assumptions about individuals but Brands has the power of endorsement & veto over all transfers, so should we pick and choose which are his and which are not?

The deals this summer appear to be very much Benitez’s, should Brands have vetoed them or is he accountable for them?

i don’t particularly know the answer, but I’m increasingly drawn to a view that the transfer process at Everton is very wrong. Too many individuals can initiate deals (the DoF, the Manager and perhaps even Moshiri). If we are to have a DoF he should be empowered, he should be accountable for transfers, he should be the main man. Sure, he should listen to who the Manager wants/doesn’t want but it should ultimately be up to him to decide.

it’s a right mess.

21 brought in by Brands
In comparison Steve Walsh btought in 23
Walsh's signings have recouped approx 70 million with the potential for more in DCL.
Richarlison apart, I cant see much money coming in from Brands' purchases
