Regardless, Managers can be useless at identifying targets. Was it Ancelotti who brought Allan and Rodriguez in, was it Benitez who brought Gray and Townsend in?
it’s not about having a manager or DoF, it’s about having the right Manager/DoF. Those appointments are key and those appointments are the most difficult to get right in Football.

Always thought Brands was here to pull unknown South American prospects out of the hat and such. The players available immediately for first team are manager picks and that could well be where we fall down because we have had so many managers over the last five years, no stability no continuity.
Its a hard choice deciding between two idiots different lists of crap players.
May as well put all the names in a hat and let the tea lady draw a couple out.
