We know that he has signed off on the following contracts:

James Rodríguez£140,000£7,280,00029M/AM (RLC)Colombia
André Gomes£140,000£7,280,00026M (C)Portugal
Yerry Mina£135,000£7,020,00025D (C)Colombia
Allan£120,000£6,240,00029DM, M (C)Brazil
Abdoulaye Doucouré£120,000£6,240,00027DM, M/AM (C)France
Richarlison£110,000£5,720,00023AM (RL), ST (C)Brazil
Lucas Digne£110,000£5,720,00027D/WB (L)France

Dominic Calvert-Lewin£72,000£3,744,00023AM (RL), ST (C)England

That is absolutely bonkers. He'd been tasked with bringing the wage budget down under £100m as per the Athletic. What a mess.

We pay £7m to a midfielder who is sadly completely broken (Gomes), £6m to Doucoure who looks totally lost in our midfield and came from a relegated side, £5m each to one of our worst ever signings (Iwobi) and Delph, the thinking man's goblin.

Gbamin on nearly £4m a year! Doesn't he have less than five league appearances?!?!
No we can see exactly why none of them are remotely interested in moving away from the club!

No we can see exactly why none of them are remotely interested in moving away from the club!

Of course, why would you?

If a serious Director of Football looked at the current Everton books vs the performance, they'd laugh and walk away. Who on earth is going to pay Gomes, Doucore, Iwobi and Delph at their current levels?

I dont think it would be too far away from what this says.

Why would we need to offer Doucoure 120k a week to lure him from a relegated Watford when he was probably on 35-40k if that....
Gomes 140k a week :hayee:
Bonkers mate! No wonder we can’t shift anyone.

We love giving money to recently relegated clubs and players

NSNO

I would have thought we at least trebled Doucoure's wage, and I dread to think for Godfrey. Five, possibly six times his Norwich wage?

DCL has had one good season and we now pay him £72k a week.

Absolutely. Let's look at that list again:

So far he's only got rid of Bernard (£120,000) Bolasie (£71,000) Besic (£29,000) Olsen (£14,000) Pennington (£14,000 a week, Christ) and Baningime (£8,500). All for free of course.

£256,000 a week, £13.4m saved. Less than Delph and [The White Elephant / Elephant in the Room] and Tosun combined.

Amazing work.

While it's not great...it's certainly exasperated by the losses due to covid in terms of hamstringing.

Walcott and Bernard off the books saved a fair chunk that if we didn't have the losses, we'd be in a better position.

If you look at the league as a whole...no one is spending apart from teams who have sold to buy, the big teams, and arsenal who have been sitting on wealth for years.

Look at the RS... brought a CB in for £30mill. Standard. They can't get anyone else in unless they get shut of players like Shaqiri and Origi off their books

Of course, why would you?

Have a look here at any club and compare value for money at other clubs compared to us.

We know they earn ridiculous money, it bothers the crap out of me but absolutely nothing we can do. you'll never justify a players wages, Beni baningame on over £8k a week, where's the motivation for them, not even an established first teamer earning a years salary for the low paid in a week

Carlo last season was saying we’d spend money in the summer and next season we’d be challenging at the top of the table and playing good football.

Safe to say he never had any intention of being here next season with this shitshow of a squad.

Gomes £140k a week is mind boggling. No wonder all the talk at the time was about how happy he was and that he turned away interest elsewhere - he knew he was about to board the gravy train!
