Him getting a new contract says everything about the club. He has undeniably failed during his time here, he had brought in some good signings like Digne & Godfrey but overall bad. We have not moved on despite the money spent. He obviously gets on well with Moshiri, Kenwright DBB etc and thats all you need to do well at Everton.

….I know he’s Everton’s DoF but I‘ve done a total u-turn, he’s not a DoF in the true definition of the role.

I used to say he’s accountable for all transfers because he has the power of veto, but I actually think others have more authority bringing in players of their choice (Managers and Moshiri). Brands doesn’t exercise veto. He has some authority as a member of the board & probably does negotiations but I think his role is more convention than power.

….ha, ha, I was going to mention you in that post & I think your intervention now is fair, although I’m not strictly agreeing with your historic suggestion that this bloke is responsible for the dross whilst others brought in the good ones.

I am coming to the conclusion his role amounts to little & will diminish further under the ego of Benitez. I’m sure he’s identifying and nominating players but others are bringing their own targets in & not authorising his.
