With us known to have been scouting Leverkusen for two seasons I wonder if he was the one who sanctioned the Gray deal or if Benitez really did "keep in touch with him since Newcastle played Leicester several years ago"...

No idea either way, seems odd though
haha, good one.

apparently Dumfries can't get a game now at MIlan and maybe available for loan in Jan. If Asshat had had his way, we'd have blown our entire budget on yet another dutch turkey. Thankfully Rafgaf stepped in and vetoed it.

I was team stability a few months ago. But I don't know how you defend his position now... Only thing sustainable he has brought to the table is the steady decline in spirit and ability amongst recruited players. Farhad only seems to hire duds. What a massive shame, I was well onboard when we hired him.

The problem is what decisions is he making. We will never know 100%. But I doubt he’s picked 1 manager here. Probably had the final say in a 3rd of the transfers. Do you reckon he promoted Unsworth to Academy director.

We could hire Monchi but if Moshiri and the rest are going to constantly overrule him, then what’s the point

From that article it seems clear he’s been given an ambitious but long term target to achieve.

We’re approaching three years from that article - what progress have we made? He’ll most likely get a few more years at least but if we aren’t showing signs of growth within the next year or two he surely has questions to answer to the board?

Nearly 3 years ago that article. Still very few real signs of progress since then.

Likewise, wanted to give him time from what he inherited. Only towards middle of last season when I looked at the squad, players he hasn’t moved on, players he’s signed and what a massive overhaul of the squad is still required did I come around to thinking he was failing miserably.

Three and a bit years in, squad is probably as bad if not worse than when he took over.

He has made some mistakes some of them not easy to predict e.g. Gbamins fitness, Moise Kean not settling. If you compare his list of signings to Steve Walsh though he has made fewer ‘expensive’ mistakes. I started this post by thinking surely Walshes record couldn’t be much worse than Brands, personally I think it is and he spent the money more quickly and ultimately led to the hole we find ourselves in.

Proper in the shadows this lad needs to explain why he has no money in reserve after his frivolous spending in previous windows and why our squad is so imbalanced and weak

The man is an absolute joke and I wouldn't trust him with another penny. I challenge a single person to defend the below image. Disgrace.

As the director of football I cannot see one footballing part of the club that is successful.
I’m really not sure what he does.
I think he obviously has some photos of Mosh in an embarrassing position…

Feel like most have us have thought this about brands. I have had enough of using this as an excuse now still cant think of a reason he still hasnt got a rb for us. Is time for him to address the fans on the progress, i am shocked how bad the squad is now

Seeminngly another clown part of the mismanagement. In some ways I don't blame him that he has to go through seven people to get a player signed or a decision made speaks to the dysfunction at the club . But I am not convinced he actually knows what pace and power this league requires and the depth we need, especially when you see him talking about Van De Beek when we are absolutely desperate for a right back, arguably only have one CB playing to standard and no midfield depth to speak of.
