Marcel Brands

His tenure can't be seen as anything as a failure. Whether that's solely down to him or more systemic, I worry it's the latter.

Whatever direction we go in, I hope the focus is on youth and sustainability.

What this won't solve is continuing to play 442 against teams that can slice right through it. That needs to be addressed tomorrow.

He's leaving with compensation til the end of the season, and if he had professional integrity he wouldn't have signed a new contract last spring.

No, he's been sacked, e.g. 'by mutual consent', and my word if anyone ever deserved a sacking in football it's him.

Moshiri is a stupid man. He's someone who doesn't have a clue about football but won't put in place a team to run an asset for him that does know what it's doing. But we can't do anything about Moshiri realistically, so the pressure has to go elsewhere and just hope Moshiri learns his bloody lesson. Sacking Brands had to be done and hopefully it's a sign it's starting to sink in that owning a football club as a toy and sending texts to Jim White isn't cutting the mustard.

…I’m not against Brands being sacked, as a Board member I think he’s more accountable for us being in a mess with FFP than wasting monies himself.

Blaming Brands for bringing in the likes of Iwobi masks the problem. Indeed, the problem is him not being empowered to bring in players.

He needed investment to kick on from 10th to Europe not because people thought this squad was headed into the relegation battle Benitez has took us into.

The only ones rewriting history are you lot.

That's absolutely not true. We hired Allardyce because Koeman was in danger of taking us down in 17/18. We then hired Ancelotti because Silva was in danger of taking us down in 19/20.

For years now this team has looked like one a few results away from a relegation scrap at the turn of the year.

Agree with every word.

I said that if he didnt buy a Right Back last Summer he would be done in my eyes, no Right Back, club an utter mess, even if its not him spending the money, the buck stops with him.

Hopefully hes the first of many, I wouldnt retain a single person at the club other than DCL, everybody else needs sacking, shooting or shown the door.

How much power did Brands wield? Allan and Rodriguez were handpicked by Carlo as players he'd worked with before. Same with Rondon and Townsend in the summer.

Not like he'd have anything to do with appointing Carlo or Rafael either. He was a glorified scout in the last couple of years at least.

….I honestly have no idea what he did, I only have an idea what he didn’t do.
