Shows how fickle and kneejerk the board/Moshiri is though doesn't it?

A whiff of discontent and the Director of Football who was given a 3 year gig in April and suddenly, bang. Change.

People queried and doubted if any discontent towards the board would have any influence - well here is your answer.

If my view, the pressure has to keep on. Moshiri simply can not allow this failing board to continue.

+1

Unless others go this is just completely pointless.

Wonder who'll be the next DoF? Kia Joorabchian no doubt.

Couldn't agree more. You could argue that out of the lot of them, he should have been the last one to go. At least he could argue he has reasonable a track record of success in football - the others are abject failures.

They've used his comment of "do you really thinks it's just the players" to get him out on the cheap, reckon they threatened him with gross misconduct or walk away paid up till the end of the season. I'm not saying I don't agree with him going but it appears it's the first "sacking" that the club hasn't paid through the nose for over a number of years. There now needs to be a lot more done with the structure (and its members) than just replacing a piece of the furniture.

No way that was gross misconduct, he's probably just given up trying to deal with this insanity. If its true he has walked away from two years of that deal, I think it says a lot about who is to blame for the state of the club; none of the managers did that and the current incumbent certainly won't.

Brands is obviously the scapegoat here. Clearly though he his either entirely responsible for the awful transfers we've had or else he's been consistently overlooked by managers and the owner. Either way is not a good look for him and either way is reason enough for him being sacked. Give him full control of a club and he might do well but his spell in charge of us has contained some of our worst business in our history so it is what it is.

You can certainly make excuses for him but that doesn't mean he's done a good job. Same as Benitez, can't totally control the state of the club but hasn't done anything to help the situation.

Agree with every word.

I said that if he didnt buy a Right Back last Summer he would be done in my eyes, no Right Back, club an utter mess, even if its not him spending the money, the buck stops with him.

Hopefully hes the first of many, I wouldnt retain a single person at the club other than DCL, everybody else needs sacking, shooting or shown the door.
It took you long enough like.

If that's true, I can understand it. Corporate casualty. Making it look like things are being rectified/fans are being heard etc. But I'm not sure they've backed the right Pony here. But can only know when we know what his actual remit was.
I think the dof model is the right way to go. Provided, the person has the power to do their job . Not sure, he ever got that. Perhaps his fault for not insisting, but guess we'll never know.

Will that help us in the here and now? I guess not.

Loads saying he didn’t by him or him…..doesn’t matter. He was DoF and he should have been buying every player. Also the academy is not exactly producing a conveyor belt of players. He had one decent window shopping with Barcelona but that’s it. Disaster. Well rid.
